$12K budget..what to get?

hello everyone.. i dunno where to post this kind of threads so feel free to move it

anyhow, lately my friend and i are going into a kind of modifying competition. so im setting up a budget to get the most performance out of my evo as a weekend warrior and still keep it a DD.

i already own a few mods to start with, which are a Greddy IC with ICP's, 1000cc injectors aside. so i dont need to buy an IC nor injectors.

so i kinda need help on what to decide on here.. ur comments and feedback are much appreciated

Get ready for a thorough flaming from all the haters

it'd be cool if for once someone in your unique position could just get some good advice and suggestions.

wish you the best.

I'd build the engine either with a built 2.0 or a 2.3 kit. the 2.3 might be better on the streets if you want it keep it a DD. and then get a 35r turbo kit preferably with the HTA 35R. then get a clutch to hold the power eg. exedy triple plate cerametallic. a dual fuel pump setup. and some sort of cams . and theres your performance. At least thats what I'd do with 12 thousand dollars. if you do ALL the work yourself this is doable.

In my opinion that would blow your budget and then some. I would do:

ETS T3 Turbo kit with your choice of turbo (3076R preferably or PT67) - $3,600
Buschur Turbo back Exhaust - $900
GSC S2 Cams - $550
EBay-AEM Wideband - $200
Boost & oil pressure gauges - $260
Choice of BOV - $200
Walbro Fuel pump - $100
AMS Fuel Press Reg - $300
Exedy or Tilton twin - $1700
3 Gauge pod -$60
ARP head studs - 100
Halman MBC- $100

With your injectors you probably need an AEM EMS, or you could swap them with 880cc's, AEM EMS $1700 includes 5 bar map and intake air temp sensors. You can free up this money with the smaller injectors and using ECUFlash which will probably yield the same results.

That leaves you with a bill of approx $9670 including shipping and 2330$ to spend on labor and tune. Tune will be usually 600-1000 from a good tuner. You looking at roughly 24hrs of labor including clutch install, from a good shop thats gonna probably run you $1440. That will leave you 300$ left over after getting a 600$ tune.

This will leave you with a 400-600whp car depending on the turbo. I made 480whp with my GT3076R setup.

Blake.

your 1000cc injectors wont be enough to max out a t67 turbo. also You'll prolly need a triple plate or the tilton twin plate to hold the power for any length of time.

Heres your answer. Pick between buschur, ams or ets. Give them a call and find out what $12 large will get you. They can tell you install prices as well as the price of tuning etc... Good luck!

what everyone else said. If u want the real bang for the buck, get a new litre bike like the R1, cbr 1000rr, zx 10r or gixxa 1000. U wont regret it.
