Actually I only paid 35K for it.

About the shoot-out. IT WAS A BLAST !!! Finally getting to meet you all (ya'll). Dan, Martin, AL, etc... was great. Dan, hope you are liking the exhaust. Martin, cant wait to see that turbo on your car control some boost. Al, glad you could run that time w/o NOS.
I did race on sat at the Summit race, but could only manage a 13.09....so Buschur offered to use an exhaust to see if I could run better, well a 12.45 @ 113mph is alot better than a 13. So I bought it. I lost in the second round to Extreme's EVO driven by Rob McKellar (who is rude) by .0006 of a sec. Thats about as close as it gets. Overall, had a great time, cant wait till next year.

The Shootout was truly awesome, and as always is a showcase fro what the 4g63 can do. I wanted to chime in and say how great Dan and Chuck from Mach V are, truly good people. My Evo went 13.07 at 103 with only an intake and test pipe, but I was lined up against Victor in the first round when he ran 12.4 so I was ousted. Apparently the guy who won had never drag-raced before, but managed to beat Al from the launch and win. Does anyone know who this guy is and what's been done to his car?

I figured it was something like that; I stayed with Jeremy (FatHouse to the TeamNABR folks) - he told me it cost you $40k

That's a really sweet 7 man, it's cool to see a LHD one in the states.

Well I missed the DSM shootout, but figured I would post my times here. I made it out to test and tune night at Capitol Raceway Crofton MD, had a best pass of 14.03 with a 1.84 60ft at 97 mph, every one of my passes was 97 mph, this evo is completely stock, I had terrible problems launching, either bogged or smoked the clutch on every run but the 14.03 pass. I used to race an all wheel drive talon, (best pass 11.20) but that was over a year ago, I just ordered my full buschur exhaust, and intake, hoping it arrives before the battle of the imports saturday the 26th at MIR (Maryland Int. Raceway). Hope to see some other Evo's there so I can get some launching tips.

Look forward to meeting up. Anyone have plans for a EVO group meeting. I seem to have lost most of my DSM racing friends over the last 2 years.

I don't know of any because most Evos around here don't drag. I live in Waldorf so if you want to meet up we can. If you get your exhaust I can help you install it real quick Sat. morning.

I would not associate the word "terrible" with the owner/driver of that EVO2 ... there's a pretty good chance that he would outdrive most people in the DSM community. If my memory serves me right, he didn't like the new triple disc clutch in his car as it didn't give him the slight "slip" that his previous twin disc did ... the car either bogged or had to be ***** footed out the hole. Either way he didn't want to make another "bad" pass.

Stinkapuss,

Sorry to go OT, but where you at in Waldorf? I live there also and never see any other EVO's around. I think I saw a yellow one once.

The winner of the EVO 8 class was Tom Newkirk. He is from New York. This was his first time ever to a race track. He has all of our parts on the car. He had ordered them all and installed them himself. On Friday he showed up at the shop to meet us and hang out. He asked if we had the MAS pipes and I/C pipes ready yet and when I told him "yes" he talked me into installing them for him.

He has:
BR full 3" exhaust
BR boost controller
BR boost gauge and mount
BR MAS pipe and air filter kit
BR upper i/c pipe w/1G BOV
BR mini battery kit

He was a super guy. After his first pass he came to me with the time slip and asked me, "What do all these numbers mean?" I said, "What do you mean, what numbers?" He says, "The numbers on this slip, I have never been to a track before!" I laughed in disbelief. His first pass ever was a 13.0 at 103 with a 2.4 sixty foot time. I explained he needed to drop that 60' time into the 1.8's or better and the car would go 12.5's atleast. Sure enough, his best pass was a 1.8? sixty foot and the car ran a 12.59 at 109 mph. He was one happy guy when he left the track!

Great day for everyone. The DSM's and EVO's fit right together.

I can't wait for next year.
