Cleaning CF Exhaust Heat Shield

So I cleaned my car yesterday and noticed that my CF exhaust heatshield is pretty burned up at one point. Its completely black and you cant see the cf anymore. What can I use to get the thing cleaned up?

Chemtool B12 has always worked for me, but I have never used it on CF. Maybe try it on an area that doesn't show first.

I use a very small amount of polish with a wet rag(very soft) then buff it off. I have the CF undertray on my VIII from APR. And with no cat I get the same black stuff. I guess it's from running rich at start up and the every now and then fireball....

I recently used some liquid clay on mine and it cleaned up nicely. I've seen them burnt fairly badly though ... to the point where they could not be cleaned ...

I use stuff called Purple Power on mine, it is a liquid cleaner that you can buy at any parts store.. The soot refuses to come off when washing, but this stuff just melts the soot right off and does nothing to the paint or CF. I always wax afterhand because it does take the wax off, but other than that it can't be beat.

I have learned to keep it away from aluminum though, if you spray it on engine components it tends to leave a crusty white residue even if you dry it via air or towel. I use simple green and a wire brush on aluminum, but for any other cleaning purple power can't be beat...

Alright thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to see if I can find any of that Purple Power stuff.
