Any specific reason or just convenience. An adapter for a filter can be found on ebay for pretty cheap.

The buschur filter is made through them. Any other filter will need the adapter. Only 2 parts needed for this. I like the buschur or apexi for the design on the stock maf. Both come as a kit. I know a couple of people are selling them right now at good prices. Here is what you need. http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...6&cat=2&page=1

Adapters are about 18 dollars. I searched on the net and that is what I found the Buschur/AMS style adapters to cost.

On ebay you will find that they sell mostly the 3 inch circular inlet adapters. I dont like those because the maf is wider and does not seem to be a good transition.

There is one style and its hard to search for on ebay that is a similar looking 4.5" maf adapter and costs 3.99+6.00 shipping.

But there is something I dont like on this one as well. If you notice the sides are 90 degree bends. So the air flow would come crashing at the sides. The AMS/Buschur adapters have a smoothed out transition where the corner air flow is smoothed in and directed towards the inlet.

The studded filter design is no longer available. I've been checking online for a long time. I even searched for the "GST/GSX" filter which is the same thing but with a much lighter price tag and no luck. There is only one with on ebay and its used. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mitsu...QQcmdZViewItem

This is what I ordered yesterday : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mitsu...QQcmdZViewItem Its pretty much the same thing as AMS and Buschurs intake using the same maf adapter made by Vibrant. But this one uses a Vibrant air filter (I think dry flow). AMS uses a k&n filter and buschur uses a dry flow filter of some type.

Hope this was helpful.

maybe i should clarify....

< post count and join date

V Mods in sig

Im very well versed in the evo and its make up....

i was asking about a specific intake filter type because of that design... was hoping someone knew where to buy it. I know about the maf adapters and filters... i have one on mine, 2 in a drawer. Was just hoping to find the same filter as buschurs setup.

FYI... Pep Boys actually sells the MAF adapter as well for our cars... at least our local one does.

thanks for the replies... hopefully somebody will have a secret link to where they buy their filters from

This looks exactly the same as the kit I got from Buschur, only they charge double that price (luckily, I did not pay that).

GST Motorsports was selling them:

I'm not sure if they still have them in stock - see this thread:

thanks man, that is exactly what i was looking for.... hopefully they have them and i can get my hands on a couple.

thanks for everyones help and responses

reason im looking for this filter is because i know it flows well and with the turbo setups we are using we dont have 2 inches or more for an intake to sit out so this will shorten the pipe enough to fit before the acd.
