there are other little differneces like the ac/stereo surround is not painted silver, instead is the same texture as the whole dash. also on the IX RS, the peice that is fake carbon going across the whole dash is the same as the VIII, just black plastic.

but mine is the perfect RS for me ive added the wing, stereo, front power windows, arm rest, carbon dash piece and the painted stereo surround.... i daily drive it, so i need some ammenities!

You may want to check again. My friends IX RS was prewired for speakers and a stock Head Unit. I gave him my stock HU and speakers, to put in. He just didn't have a spot for the tweeters. (no tweeter speaker holes)

Your a moron....So what your saying is, "...the RS weight difference isn't even 100lbs." This is why they trap 1-2 mph faster than a GSR and MR and are .2 - .3 quicker. How does "not even 100lbs," do that! My only guess is it must be that weight.

Why do people always compare performance in the 1/4 mile? Dirt or tarmac these cars were built to be on a road course!!! 100lbs is a significant amount of weight. This is especially true on a 4 mile track when you have to get it moving, slow it down, and hold a line thru turns. In a 20 minute lappign session that 100lbs could shave off a full second.

That being said there are two things that I couldn't give up.
1. Factory HIDs - their value is priceless to me.
2. ABS at track events - I've driven an RS at a road course and the brakes took alot of getting used to. I perfer ABS on the track where others prefer to go without.

Maybe because the Evo is a very capable 1/4-mile car, especially considering the very quick 60' times produced by AWD?

Idiot. The word you're looking for is "you're." Nice try though.

Apparently Mitsu's official information regarding the RS' weight is wrong, which I didn't learn until very recently. That doesn't change the facts. If you're trying to say a difference of 100lbs on a 3100lb car makes for a 2mph trap and .2 ET difference, you're completely delusional. Get a clue.

Like previously mentioned it's close to 130-150lbs and that's good for .1-.2 and approx. 1 mph in the 1/4 mile.

Like I said, I didn't know the difference was that much previously But my earlier post had nothing to do with the RS specifically, simply a difference of 100lbs. The poster that I replied to thought such a difference was enough to have a substantial effect on 0-60 and 1/4-mile times, which simply isn't true.

Erm, yeah, those are the exact numbers I quoted in my first post. A tenth isn't much of a difference in a low-13 second car.

I agree, but if its 13 going down to 12.9, that might make some people jump for joy.
now on a faster car (ie. low 10's-9's... that might make or break a race)

Heh, true enough. But that's talking about a specific person who runs a 12 for the first time. It still isn't much of anything when you're talking about general performance for a specific car.

Your second statement is exactly right, which is why I specified low 13
