Nope. No HID's. Not even as an option. 04's did have the sprayer.

WRONG.

My main reason for buying an RS was the front LSD which was unavailable on the GSR in '04.

My post didn't say a damn thing about the RS' times specifically. Get it? I was talking about a difference of 100lbs. I already said that I was incorrect about the RS weight difference (damn me for believing the official weight). Therefore I already admitted that any statement I made regarding the RS' performance was probably overly conservative. Is the picture coming together for you now?

I'm done here.
HAHAHA....So we are arguing the same point! Thats rich....

Wow. Even a IX RS weighs under 3k pounds! That'd explain the improved 0-60, 0-100 and quarter-mile times. I remember the Motor Trend 2005 Evo comparison article that had the RS doing a 4.3 second 0-60, 12.6 to 100 and 13.1 for the quarter with a trap of 102.8 mph. Phenomenal numbers for a car that some bought new for $26k. On that same day, if there was a IX RS available ... Man. 4.2 to 60 and 12.9 for the quarter wouldn't have been out of the question. I know I've read on here people that've made it into the twelves with their stock IXs. My point in all of this is what else but less weight could account for these quicker times?

That's the problem with arguing over the internet. You misread one statement and the entire thread goes to hell

Guess we're all squared away then

interesting read about this http://media.mitsubishi-motors.com/p...detail992.html

the Al roof saves 4kg.....

You can pick up that Aluminum roof from a dealer for about $650. Good luck installing it though, lemme know how it turns out.

as for the sound deadening material... there are only two pieces of it on the entire car. Identical 8x10" pieces on the floor where your feet rest when you drive wether its RHD or LHD.

Another interesting fact... I can only speek for MY 04 RS by the way... Even though all the creature comforts are deleted from the RS, it still has the wiring for everything. i.e. power widows and locks, radio, rear wiper and even the ACD(if you didnt get it) There are a few more things but you get the idea. I took 17lbs of wiring and connectors out of my car. Only took a few days of wire cutting mayhem! haha

not the IX RS! i did a power window swap on mine, and the door wiring was completley different... not a single wire for power windows/door locks! and there isnt a single wire that goes to the back doors! actually, there arent even holes cut in the b-pillars for wiring to come out of.. i was gonna have to cut holes myself to run the wiring for the rear windows, thats why i scrapped the idea..kinda wierd that mitsu would go as far as to program the computers to not cut these holes in the RS',, id figure they would just plug them
