$2500 to spend...

My 2003 Evo 8 is paid off in a few months so I thougt I might throw some money at it soon. So far I have Buschur turbo back with high flow cat, buschur air intake, boost gauge, and a Turbo Trix tune. The car dynoed at 290 to the wheels and is tuned for 21 psi but I don't have the boost controller yet. What is in the 2500 dollar budget... Any suggestions or examples of set ups would be great!

Excellent idea. I probably should have been more specific. I want to spend it on the car!! It's fast, but not fast enough. More along the lines of performance upgrades.

I have the same car as you...

My mods are in my sig - not a bad path to follow, IMNSHO.

The best value-added mods for your current setup would be:
1. MBC
2. test pipe
3. IX/MR DV
4. cams
5. re-tune

If you are staying with the OEM turbo for now, then do HKS 264/264 cams. They really wake up a stock turbo.

unless you track your car regularly I highly doubt the car aint fast enough but to each his own. Call up Buscher, AMS, or any other vendor and they would be gladly to tell you how to spend it.

Is a car ever fast enough?? What is better if I plan on keeping a stock turbo; which I do, 264 or 272 cams?

I'm really hoping to draw out some guys with 03's that have a good set up. I'd like to keep the stock turbo and not go too agressive. It will be my everyday ride, but then again I only put a few hundred miles a month on my car. It needs to be a reliable street car.

A new clutch would be a good investment too.

Here are the mods in my 03:

-tbe w/ test pipe
-hks 264/264
-mbc @ 21-22psi
-9 bov
-arp headstuds
-k&n drop in
-walbro fuel pump
-tune

Everything else stock.
I got dyno tuned on a dynojet and it made 325whp (91 octane).

I think I'll run the stocker until it starts to slip. I don' t abuse my car. Never spun the wheels launching honestly. I'll pound on it a few times here and there but never really from a start. Don't plan on changing that, but I'm sure I'll need a new clutch down the line.

That's what I'm thinking about. The number that hits me is 350 whp... I know it depends on the dyno too, but that is a good goal I think. Good numbers six.

Anyone changing IC piping with the stock turbo and intercooler?

Depends...264/264 add more power at the low end and 272/272 add more power at the high end. If you want bigger dyno numbers, go 272/272. Or if you plan to drag race or long-track your car.

If you want maximum on-street drivability, then go 264/264. Or for Auto-X, or short-track.

IMO...

You could hit 350 whp with a nice race gas tune on your stock turbo. Or pump gas with a 9 turbo.

The factory fmic is good for up to 400 whp but it will heatsoak quicker than aftermarket units if you track or really push the car hard. IMO the stock ic piping and intake is not that bad especially on the stocker. It's more of a response mod and makes more noise than anything.
