Picked up RMR Downpipe

Went to the RMR building today and picked up my downpipe. Piece is built great and the guys down there are the nicest guys. They know what they are doing down there. I was doing custom exhaust so they even cut off the flange so that I could weld the tubing straight from there to the muffler.

You can please all of the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but not all of the people all of the time.

Nothin' wrong with having a good experience. As for fabrication quality, every piece I've seen by RMR (US Lancer parts and a couple scattered Evo parts) has been top notch.

evo1- if you read his post he does not trash the actual product, just the install. I am not familiar with them installing, but the piece they made for me was great.

You know, since you've NEVER been there, maybe it's time to STFU... I have more experience with RMR than just about anyone here and they do nothing but good work. I think the complaints are just bandwagon nonsense. The only exception is Shawn Glass and I think his deal was a combination of things gone wrong, not all RMR's fault.

There were a couple other people too, but personally I think the vast majority of their customers have been pleased. Could we please just not have this be a reinactment of Shawn's thread though? He just came to express his happiness with his downpipe.

Well, it looks like this thread is going south, so I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in before it turns into a full-blown flame war. I've had some work done by RMR, and I have been quite pleased. Their customer service is excellent when you're on site, and the parts have made a definite positive improvement in performance. When off-site, however, you get a bit of the brush-off as they're quite busy servicing everybody. Forewarned is forearmed.

Shawn's experience doesn't sound too far from reason - especially given his location (i.e. not proximal to RMR, so he can't go down and raise hell in person - usually much more effective than phone calls). I've been through similar brush-offs with other after-market vendors, and I feel his pain, but it's not representative of all experiences. I could care less whether people choose RMR, or Buschur, or UR, or Vishnu - matters not to me. What matters is that people get the WHOLE picture which includes the GOOD along with the bad. All one has to do is search, and they can find negative experiences and opinions regarding most of the other vendors in the forums.

As I said - my two cents, FWIW. Caveat Emptor.

-Josh

I just finished installing the RMR DP, lower brace and cat back exhaust... It is really good quality and the fit was perfect. It sounds really nice as well.

Looking at the stock exhaust leads me to think it is REALLY restrictive as compard to the RMR system.

Wow, that is one heck of an observation there, Chris. Any aftermarket evo exhaust is higher flowing than stock. Congrats for letting us know that RMR exhaust wins over the stock set-up.

Dude, like 18 RMR Shawn Glass thead replies ago you said that you weren't going to say anything more about this ... yet you are still trying to justify your high regard of RMR. So quit blowing your own GD horn already ...
