i want to remove mine i hate it i think the car looks so much cleaner with it off

 

i will be doing this once i find an evo to buy. imo, a wingless evo looks nowhere as naked as a wingless sti. but a wingless evo with stock suspension looks kinda funky. reminds me of bobbleheads ?

 

I was talking to a friend tonight about removing the wing on my EVO. She said, "don't do it, it will look lame"...lol. Still debating...no further hassles from the police since last week, so it's not so primary on my mind.

 

yes my friend took his off and said he has yet to be noticed by a cop yet n that was about a 4 or 5 months ago im removing mine and just welding the holes shut n repainting the trunk

 

I would say from my experience that removing the wing helps bring less attention from cops mainly, but not from other people who just want to act a fool on the streets. Then again, without the wing there are other mods that are done that can easily bring the attention back. Like colorful wheels, exhaust, bov, etc.

I took my wing off because I wanted to try something different and the rexpeed cf spoiler. Not cause it was ricey, or cause I needed to grow up or whatever. I think the stock wing looks good with the body lines of the car.

 

I will be removing my wing the second it gets back from tuning!!! I keep getting pulled over by a@#hole cops. I rarely speed and I'm just tired of the hassle. On another note... the wing is what MAKES the Evo stand out, so I cant say it will stay off for too long!!!

 

The wife said if I took the wing off It would ruin the lines and I tend to agree with her

 

i was goin to take it off but kept it on, only been pulled over once for exhaust, i get followed like crazy tho

 

I removed mine but I notice the rear end was really light when I went over 60

 

i looked in cops eyes to see if they notice me, nothing its like im invisible....

 

It looks good. Never noticed the rear being light though. Maybe it's because I put another spoiler on and have a heavy trunk with a stupid system.

Next mods should be a perrin shorty and repaint the Brembos. It'll look extra sharp

I have had my Evo for over a month now, and have not even had a second glance from a cop. I also drove it an hour away, and no problems.

Do what the woman say....wife told me my evo looked gay wingless....Wing is there to this day....you go ahead and drive your guilty shoebox wingless and post about your deliberation or accept the fact that winged boys stick better above 70 and screw the dragstrip trap speeds. If you want a 'fast car' for car bowling take it off and loose the guilt/gain mph the nbolt it on for daily driving, or....
