Perrin HFC or Random Tech HFC for IX?

I'm looking to go greener on my IX. I'm pretty well set between getting a Perrin High flow cat from lancershop or a randomtech from ultrarev.

Both are 3"

I'm wondering a few things:

Will the randomtech fit a IX? I know its missing the O2 bung and I would have to have one welded on, but are the cat length and rotation the same?

Is the randomtech worth the extra $120 (after welding on a new bung)?

All of the great cat reviews I see say the randomtech is the best. I can't find more than 1 review for the Perrin and no dyno results, but it looks very similar to the randomtech (metal substrate, cell/in, diameters).

Thanks guys!

I had the Randomtech, and it sure was nice. As close as you can get to a test pipe without it actually being a test pipe.

Not sure about your fitment issues.

I have the Perrin HFC and have no complaints.I have the HKS Hi power exhaust and the HKS GT Extension kit.Fits like a glove. The Perrin HFC came with a plug for the o2 sensor hole on the HKS exhaust so it was perfect.I did notice some power gains and the car did have a deeper tone to it.

I'm running the Perrin HFC too. Definate difference in sound. the 02 bung is located facing the psgr. seat so the stock sensor reaches with no problems. It bolted up with no fitment problems. I don't have a before/after dyno result though. Picked it up used on the forums here...it was practically brand new.

I'm running the Megan DP, with NO issues. The Perrin's flanges are offset slightly, like on the stock cat, so I would be willing to say it would bolt up to any cat back that bolts up to the stock cat, not the slip fit stuff though.

I have the exact same set up and it fits and sounds great.

I think I'm leaning toward the Perrin just because of price and the O2 bung.. but I'm looking to pick up an RM01A which may have a bung on it anyway. It would be nice to have the bung facing sideways since right now with 1 of 2 mechanical O2 fixes on my RTP I'm rubbing the headshield now and then... but I'm also hoping that the accessport can pass readiness after I remove the second O2 and get a flash. As I understand Chris@AMS is still testing that.

I just hear great things about randomtech, and sometimes Perrin cheaps out on "simple" parts. I've seen comparison dynos with the randomtech though and the horsepower difference was very negligible. I was hoping someone would chime in with a similar test on the Perrin, but I imagine with simlar cell/in counts, substrates, and pipe/cat sizes they will have similar results.

I was leaning towards the Randon Tech HFC when I still had a cat. I've got a test pipe now tho...

The cobb was basically the same price as the randomtech, and while I like Cobb products I hadn't seen back to back dynos for it... and I had a feeling that for passing Cali emissions they may have had to pack a higher density of cells in the cat to clean things better.

The ultimate racing pipe is in the same cost area for the metal substrate, but I haven't seen dynos to back it up like the randomtech even though it claims its efficient to 700hp.

Anyone know the cell count on either of these? ....or have back to back dynos for them?
