I'm about to get sued for a track incident, I need your input...
the fact is, even though we feel one way about this situation.
This took place in another country where the laws arent the same, we dont know the laws there or how things work. So its hard to say if hes in the clear or not.
Lawyer will help you much more than we can, but this is a lesson for the rest to know that this can happen to anyone and to be prepared for it and understand the mishaps that happen when racing a car.

This is like bad B-movie! I can't believe you guys were "racing" or even allowed to race on a Racetrack with little to no experience. Perfect recipe for a disaster. It seems both parties were inexperienced and careless. Especially the one that was following too closely and thought he could avoid the accident by speeding up. Get in touch with a lawyer.
Come to america and claim immunity.
I suggest u work out a deal with the other guy. tell him your willing to work out a fair deal offer a fair deal. and if he has attitude , tell him
u will getting nothing if you go to court because you can show u have nothing.
so fix it before it goes to court. dont pay lawyers ,
oh-just dont talk on email so much with the guy. if u cant talk in person-phone is better. less trail.

Still no update yet, the discussion happened on Thursday night. So if anything happens, it'll start sometime next week. I agreed to negotiate in the beginning, but looking at the directions of the argument, it sounds like he'll not come to agreement unless I pay 50% or more (and not paying a dime on my car of course).
The car is 01 VII evo, 7 years old, while it is estimated to have about at least 12k in damage. So basically it is totalled. Insurance won't cover him of course because it happened outside Hong Kong and from what I know, insurance companies in Hong Kong won't cover track events anyways.
I'm not gonna pay him anything, why should I pay him if I did nothing wrong? Paying him would mean that I am accepting the blame, which I totally disagree.
Another interesting fact is that it was his friends car, which happens to be the shop car of a shop he works for (he is a mechanic), sounds like it'd be another factor that would work against him if it would affect anyside at all.
I'm done talking to him, it leads no where, and it just creates environment where any verbal mistake I make can give him advantages in court.
