EVO 8 & 9 in used market now that EVO 10 arrived?

What are your thoughts? Will the EVO 8 and 9 used market value drop now that the X's are arriving? or will the 8's and 9's value increase/remain strong because X's have arrived?
I can see both happening, not sure?
Chris

Were all screwed when the X is finally here!!!!

As long as people want a IX or VIII for there potential then there will be someone who will pay for it....Other than that we dont own anything special when it comes to the value. The evo will depreciate and be worth less and less each year, end of story.

Why can't people just answer the question? I looked at the first 3 pages of this forum and didn't see anything even close to my question.

Anyway, the reason why I asked is I don't own one yet. If I did get one, it would be used. I'll want to pay as little as I can for one. Was curious to see what others thought on here since most actually own evo's and so have experienced buying one and selling one.
I'm sorry, but at least half of the evo owners I've met or know of or have read/posted with on forums are punks. Luckily I'd be buying a car, not buying into a car club or lifestyle since I have my own lifestyle already. ha ha
Anyway, just venting a little, sorry.
Back on topic.

I'm 100% sure they may or may not be a difference in used car pricing for the evo 8 and 9

Prices will drop- first question i get when i mention to someone im getting a evo-
first most dont know what it is.
when u say MITSU- and the price- there jaws drop.
just the same the car is all that. but yes 15k drivetrain is right.
so hold on the 05 and 06 the glory days like u hold on to your highschool yearbook.
when u go to sell it - u will learn the lesson of depreciation
dam for 40k i can get a 911turbo-old but damn sweet. and since most havent driven a older 911 t - i will tell u it will put the hurt...
the only way to slow down depreciation is to make payments and never drive the car-sounds like fun?

I see the prices for the Evo to drop as well.

The only people that would probably buy an VIII or XI are fan boys and those fan boys wont be around forever. Having been disappointed that the Evo has lost it's "Heritage", they will move onto another car.

The Evo isnt popular enough to have the price rise up just because its the last "real" Evo. The new look of the Evo will slowly crawl its way into people's mind and make them forget about the Raw Edgy goodness of the old Evos.

Thats just my opinion.

Hopefully in 10 years people will look at my evo on here and say the same thing I say when I see an evo 3-6.........
"D@mn, wish I had one of those!!!"
"D@mn, that is a sweet car!!!!"
"D@mn, what is it like to own one of the last real evos?"
"D@mn, you are one lucky guy, what is it like to drive without super-duper-triple-ACD and Mitsu's new paddle-controlled-everything?"

Listen everyone close and far, the EVO will always be sought after from all fans of autocross events at least, go to some of their websites and you will see old cars like miatas, 944's, camaro's that are still selling for good money, the price will stabalize for quite a while then probably start rising and keep on rising, down the road when my MR is paid off about two years from now, it will be money in the bank.
I can either just keep it the way it is in mint condition, or sell it for some very nice pocket change in case of emergency or whatever.

just keep it till its paid off then buy the ten in a couple years or who knows what’s available then, probably some crazy fast hybrid??

Nothing IMO compares to the evo 8 and 9.. That new X that looks like a volvo has more added features to it than necessary.. The evo VIII is a simple purpose built performance car. I am no fan of the X and ill collect a garage full of 8's just incase they become extinct.. I have 3 so far..
