do you think this is a scam?
I'm still wondering about the anti-lag ports, though.
It is totally a cam. No offense to my EVO but i almost bought a STI from Ebay on onr of these scams about 2 yrs ago. Kind of the same thing. If it is too good to be true then it is. Damn i love my EVO!!!!!!!
It's an RS. Come on, why else would there be a blank panel (where the red LED is installed, probably for a car alarm) in the place of the mirror adjust controls? He simply put color matched mirrors on the car. If you notice, there aren't any fog lights, a rear windshield wiper either. Also, the windshield wiper speed lever only has the RS options (no intermittent).

I guarantee its a scam, and there are some really good ones out there.
I attempted to buy an Evo for 9K from a guy on Ebay. He sent me a VIN number which checked out on Carfax, numerous exchange emails. He sent me additional pictures on my request. He assured me that we would Ebay's middle man service, and that I could inspect the car after it was delivered before releasing the funds.
I missed the close of the first auction so he made arrangements to open a private auction which I did a buy it now on. After which point he sent me an email with a link to the "middle man" with the account number that I should send the money too. This is what actually tipped me off as being fishy. Thinking it was odd, I decided to look a little further. I did a 'whois' on the website address which was something like "http://ebay.bidsafe.com" or some other crap only to find out its not owned by Ebay, at which point I promptly reported it to Ebay abuse.
If its too good to be true, it likely is, don't buy anything that's too good to be true till you've put your hands on it.

I live in the town right next to him and I asked if I can come see it and I gave him my phone number to call, so we shall see if he does.
There was this guy on here and I spoke to him over the phone and he even posted his story on here but he got his Evo for 8700, clean title nothing wrong with it and he even had a few mods when he bought. Maybe he will chime in. he also was from Colorado

It also may very well be a ploy to get you to send him an email, and then he promptly collects this massive list of emails demographed towards evo-lovers, or import car lovers or whatever, and you get spam for the next 20 years. (there is money in that business).
Absolutely a scam !!!
These Nigerian A$@holes do whatever they can to scam someone into buying something. They steal photo's from the internet, post them on Ebay for sale, as if they own the car and want you to contact them before bidding. I followed thru on one of these recently, as I had gotten scammed about 5 years ago trying to sell my GSX.
I wanted to make sure it was a scam before reporting it to EBay. Now whenever I see this I contact Ebay everytime. They then delete the listing, hopefully before someone has sent them a deposit..... Normally they want you to Western union them the deposit as it is completely untraceable.
To anyone out there, If its too good to be true.....Well it is. Simple as that.
There are good deals on Ebay, no doubt, I saw a Porsche 968, low miles sell for $8000, in upstate NY. Legit too ! My road bike frame I got New for $1200, it is a $2700 frameset !!
Hopefully this helps,
Marc
