What is a good EVO 8 lower intercooler pipe?
I just ordered my licp from Buschur yesterday, $226 shipped. I know there are cheaper ones out there, but I prefer to have all my piping done through the same company. Plus all my pipes have 4-ply silicone hoses with T-bolt clamps. I'm sure the gains are minimal but the looks of polished pipes over stock will be worth the money for me.
I just bought the ETS UICP in gloss black. I can't wait for it to get here next week. I also know the gains are minimal, if any, but after seeing the vast expansion in my hoses when doing a dyno pull I had to do something about it.
My ETS upper lower and intake pipes should be here tomorrow. Everything is polished except the lower which I got in silver. Will post my thoughts when I get everything installed. Can't wait.
btw Tom @ ETS is very helpful. Was able to answer all of my questions that I had on how things would work and even made a custom order for me.

Tom even gave me a 10% military discount. What a hell of a guy. You'll have to tell me how the install went. I was hoping to install the UICP without removing my front bumper but I know it will be easier to do with it off.
i think the horsepowerfreaks is the way to go. its only $200 and its 2.5in all the way through. compared to the others. whats the point of upgrading the pipe if its still smaller at one end like the stocker? and as for custom, i have good relations with my muffler shop and they said after ordering the mandrelbends and welding them and making them fit good, you might as weel just buy one cuz it would cost about the same if not more...
Thanks for the kind words guys, I really appreciate it
BTW, we built the LICPs for HorsepowerFreaks back when they were selling them, but brought them directly to market about a year ago. Those were ETS LICP kits

We leave the bracket off on the EVO VIII/IX LICPs intentionally to allow for a bit of manipulation of the piping within the couplers for fitment with as many aftermarket intercoolers as possible. Bolting the pipe in place with a bracket limits flexibility for install, and with the slight variations from the various aftermarket intercooler manufacturers we get the best fitment by leaving the bracket off.
We've run a similar LICP (3" version) on Paul's 1117whp beast to 55psi with exactly the same piping material, couplers, clamps and no bracketry or bracing that we ship with every customer order with great results, so we're certain that they will meet the need in any customer's hands
