What is a good EVO 8 lower intercooler pipe?

Who makes a good lower intercooler pipe? I have seen Bushur, AMS and Nisei. I know Nisei is sold by Motion Garage but I have been trying to contact them to get one for a like a week and no response so I guess it is not a good idea to order from them. Any other place to get the Nisei LICP? Any other good pipe?

I am not sure if getting the NISEI steel one is a good idea due to rust issues. This is for an EVO 8.

I like the AMS. You can adjust it to what ever turbo you have. Iam using it on my fp green turbo.

It looks like the AMS have a bracket to keep it in place and that is good but it uses a smaller tube that increments its size in piping from the turbo outlet to 2.5” using two tubes. The ETS is solid 2.5" with a hose adapter on the turbo outlet that looks like it support more flow but no bracket. Looks like turbo outlet is pretty small though. I am not sure if the AMS design really hurts that much but it looks more like the OEM with its smaller tubing from the turbo outlet than the ETS piece.

Do these pipes really give power on a stock Turbo EVO 8. Car will have TBE, intake, MBC @ 22 psi and tuning? Is it work the $200 +?

You can also try the PPI one. I got mine for Christmas and it fits great. Here is the link.

Not everybody has a welder and pipe bending machines to make decent pipes.

That is a more feasible option, but you mentioned making your own which implies owning a welder and pipebender while also having the skills necessary to operate that equipment.

None of these (ETS, PPI, or AMS) should be a bad internal design because they are both exiting toward the wider end. If airflow was going toward the bottleneck, then you would definitely want wan that gradually gets skinnier to prevent turbulent constriction. However, the LICP comes off of the turbo compressor outlet and goes into the intercooler, so it shouldn't make a difference. However, I'd definitely get one that has provisions for bracing much like the stock pipe. You definitely don't want your intercooler piping to be supported by the silicon couplings that hold it to the turbo / intercooler. It's got a hard enough job to do by just staying together with high boost applied.

I kind of like the AMS design. Smoth transition from turbo outlet to the piping, and the silicon midle connector might help with firment too. It also has the holding bracket on it but it is also the most expensive part @ $240. Any real dyno number on any of these pipes?

I have a Buschur, but if I had to order one right now today I'd do that $129 Nisei one. Can't beat that price at almost $100 cheaper than the others!
