Unhook the positive lead from the battery, and see if the voltage goes up to 12 or so.. if it does, you have a draw on the battery from somewhere in the car. hook it back up and pull fuses one at a time to find where its coming from.

If it still sits at a half a volt, it's fried.... badly.

sounds like you have a short somewhere ... btw, CF is a great conductor, friend of mine had the same problem and it turned out to be a CF valve cover shorting out on some exposed sensor wiring...

Heres a little bit of info, depending on the specs of the battery and how much of a load is on it with the car off, as well as environmental factors, if the battery is drained to a certain point it will lose its ability to hold a charge. This is why batteries go out to begin with, technically they are just boxes with corrosion inside. An anode and cathode in a pool of electrolytic fluid, one side eats away introducing electron flow in the process. By eats away, I literally mean eats away until it is no longer functional.
Toss in a new battery mabye from another car and give it a shot for a day or two. Occasionally battery tenders (the machine at autozone etc.) fail to diagnose this problem.

Typically higher output batterys maintain their stagnant charge for a shorter period of time, than economical batteries. You can never have the best of both worlds.....

I crank mine atleast once a week, even if I don't drive it. Mine sat for about 3 weeks in the cold and it drained the battery but it charged up after driving it for an hour.

the batteries arent meant for cars. if you want a long term, no hassles solution, put a full size battery in your car. you'll be very happy

DING DING DING DING!!
You install the leads once, and from then on all you need to do is plug it in.

Ding ding ding!!! once batteries are drained, they dont hold a full charge again. Get a new battery

That's what I was worried about... it can happen... just know that if you relocate your battery to the trunk, if you go to a drag strip they might give you **** for not having an on/off switch on the outside of your car!

I have a mini-bat in my car. I bought a $30.00 battery tender from Auto Zone. The car sat for 7 months, and the battery is still excellent. If you want to run a small battery for weight reduction, get a trickle charger with an automatic mode.

quick question, is it ok to charge the battery while positive and negative terminals are connected to it? Kind of similar setup like in jump starting the car.

I do this all the time when I'm out of town for more than a weekend (using a trickle charger). Doesn't seem to hurt anything as far as I can tell ...
