Same type of thing happened to me a week after Christmas. guy passed me on the shoulder then slowed down 10 miles beloew the speed limit. we both took an off ramp and then i got beside him and gave him the finger. We both pulled up to a light in heavy traffic and when the guy got beside me on the passenger side he threw a water bottle at my car. He thought he could speed away because his lane was moving and mine wasnt, but I immediately cut off the person behind him and followed him to get his tag and called the cops. My wife thought I was going to do something very bad to his face, but I restrained myself (6'2" 255lbs :P). ended up just being a quarter sized dent in the passenger side. Prob shouldnt have given the guy the finger but you live and you learn. Anyway, he got pulled over within 10 mins and i filled a report.

I could try to defend my point to you but i wont bother, theres no point.

I retracted my last 2 sentences in the quote above.....

but we can agree to disagree

I still stand my ground though.... if I am being attacked or threatened, as a man, I will stand my ground and fight, unless I have no chance of winning

FYI- I am a Pro-2nd amendment guy and go shooting all the time to keep my skills sharp....

and I also wanted to add that the problem with "liberal" America today is that we rely too much on the police and the government to protect us. The reality is, majority of the time they cant, because the cops cant be everywhere at once. On top of that when a crime, assault, murder, robbery is in progess, it normally takes cops on average 10+ minutes to arrive, that is if they are not backed up.

Most of the time, by the time cops arrive, the victim of the crime will be dead and frozen stiff and the bad guys would have took off

On December 25th 2007, I did not yield properly, and I knew it, I immediately said, sh#$, so I pulled to the side but this jerk in a ford explorer was on my a$$, he finally pulls up next to me, I roll down the window, he's yelling f this f that, my wife tells him, "He knows it was a mistake.", he keeps yelling, she says in a polite manner, "Merry Xmas " I'm sure every time he heard merry xmas that day, he thought of how stupid he behaved on the road. 10 years ago, I would have came out of the car and pulled his a$$ out for a proper settlement . Not the smartest or the safest thing to do. The way you handled it was the right way.

Glad you're ok and you did the right thing.

Wow, that sucks. You should have shot him, sounds to me like a crazy guy with a tire iron would have made it justified.

Have you guys seen this freaking nut on youtube who smashes the blue PT Cruiser for no reason to show he "owns dis and is pimpin his ho's?" A cop sent me the link, said if he'd have been in the car the guy would have gotten shot, I agree. If anyone's interested I'll find it and post it, it's nuts.

Sorry to hear about your car, it can be fixed though, even though it sucks.

Wow, I read the very first post and then posted my response. I then went back and read the other 10 pages. I see a lot of guys have the same attitude I do.

I agree, the government and police can't protect you. You have to protect yourself.

thats when you need an aluminum baseball bat to even the score. i think he did the right thing calling the cops, but i think i would have to do battle with this guy.

Thanks Dave, at least you and I share the same philosophies on self defense.

and I'll make another point. I live in NYC, a city populated by ~8 million people in the 5 boroughs....

1) Do the cops have a responsibility to protect all of us? YES

2) Can they realistically protect all of us if even at least 100,000-200,000 people were at the risk of being harmed right now in the city?? NO, I dont even think the police force is even that big, so therefore we as people need to be empowered to protect ourselves as a matter of dignity and self preservation

The job of police is to enforce the law, not protect you. your job is to protect yourself. trust me on that one

No worry dude, I'm with you on that one, as a matter of fact I have applied for FLA's non-resident full pistol carry permit (which is honored by 29 gun-freindly states), and NYC permits....its only a matter of time before I can legally pack (out of NY of course)...

One I get my FLA and NY permits, I'm then going to apply for CT, ME, NH, and UT permits as well..
