Exclamation Question... What Am I Lookin at here...?

Hey Guys, im a little bitter right now, but all is good... i just try to think of the positive things all the time. Long story short.... I went to the market for some milk (I <3 milk) and came back to see my rear driver side bumper scratched up and rubbed up. A chunk of paint was scratched off the surface...

Here are some pics. I just want to know what im lookin at to get it repaired, or how much (if) money it would cost me to wait for the evo bumper.

Image above just has the lighting reflected its not as bad as it seems

What's your deductible like?

You might want to call a dent repair specialist. They can usually take car of light damage like that. Luckily no real damage to the bumper or quarter, just paint. People suck.

I didnt see anything dedicated to accidents, incidents or body damage so i just put it hear, also the comment on the evo rear bumper closely related the the section.

thanks guys, im just not familiar with body damage and how insurance claims goes... ill call triple a and see what they gotta say. Deductable is about 500$ i believe...

any more comments or suggesstions are welcome. If you feel this thread still doesnt belong here you can move it...

thanks again guys~

Is your car an Evo? I thought it was a 2008 GTS. Wouldn't it make sense to post this in the Lancer (DE,ES,GTS) 2008+ Forums?

That way those rogue shopping carts can get up a good head of steam before they smash into your car.

I think everyone should at some point get a baseball bat and park there car in a parking lot and wait and see who messes with it. Just do this now and then.
I think I will do it this weekend.

two way alarm system. When my key chain goes off, I'll run back out DE's a-blazin'

As for your repairs, start off by getting a couple quotes here and there - don't be lazy, shop around -. From there, consider the quote to how much your deductible is. If they're close, just pay it out of pocket and avoid giving your insurance company a reason to possibly raise your rates. I wouldn't consider replacing the bumper unless it's actually dented up beyond repair. If it is, get a quote at a few different places before you talk to the insurance company. They're going to do all that shopping for quotes anyway, but it's always good to make sure they don't low-ball you. And hopefully you don't have one of those insurance companies that insist you MUST get it fixed at a shop of their choosing. These types of insurance-shop setups tend to be aimed towards saving money for the insurance company over providing you with good mechanical work. All in all, it doesn't look like it's going to be too much trouble. Good luck.

Yea seriously, its just even more aggrovating because they did the same to my seven, no it wasnt the same market. Its just people with no odacity, intellegence, or care to be more careful. I have more than a bat in my car, i can remove the axle back with the quickness and hand it to them in a nice old wack fashion to the head. ^_^

Nice, Yea I already called a couple of folks. I got a buddy, that has 2 friends with bodywork shops. He's already making some phone calls for me. As well as I am... so there are about 3 people already on the works of getting me some quotes or drive-in's to check it out. Nope, the bumper isnt dented or bent really. It's more of scratches and that one hard scratch that managed to chip off the paint.

Thanks Oya for taking time and replying. Much appreciated, ill post back with results on cost, and time as soon as it's been handled.

I still hate people

Cheers Oyabun, and evo forum(s).

Find the right person . I have a dent in my roof under the Vortex and you can see it...vortex is coming up. For them to remove the vortex, fix the dent, repaint the whole roof, and then remount the vortex....$300 cash. and 3 days with the vehicle. i think i will go that route

Just keep your eyes out for the right place.

I seriously watch where I park no matter how short I will be in and out of some place. I never drive it and park it where shopping cars are but thats just me, one of the perks of having 2 rides. Rogue shopping carts do suck big time I learned my lesson when my GS-R got dinged like a million times.
