A timing belt is not needed under 60,000mi. Especially not as a first few mods. It serves zero performance gains.

Intercooler pipes serve zero gains over stock.

Only one gear is available to be replaced on a 2006 Evo with MIVEC variable intake cam.

Lower IC pipe alone is the only slight benefit from anything mentioned.

one sure way to see if you are reaching 100% IDC is if you try to richen up your tune and it doesn't get any richer then you would know that its time for an injector upgrade.

Cosworth 272s IMO are the best overall set for the IXs. HKS is nice, but the numbers are never as high and the torque isn't nearly as fat.

Cams and fuel pump! That's what I'd do on my own car.

did you read my post about cams ? lol

pretty much my finding so far...

cosworth kills the gsc by at least 10 in whp and tq and cosworth kill the hks in hp and run close with tq.

I've been boosting the cam's ego ever since they came out. They really are an amazing improvement over HKSs which is really just the cherry on the dessert for the JDM guys.

pwned. But yeah just make a thread and you'll have knowledgable people answer your questions. They won't know your question in an unrelated thread.

My issue is that outside of RRM not many people make parts for my car including body kits but there are plenty for you ES types so my question is will the kits for the ES bolt up to the RA and same with fenders and CF doors. Any feedback is great.

Even though two of them say the exact same thing, these were all posted in different threads! If you can figure out how to hit "ctrl + C" and "ctrl + V" then you can figure out how to navigate on a forum. It really isn't much harder than reading, pointing, and clicking.

LAZY!

Haha nice quoting...

What's everyones take on recirc BOV, more for sound or any noticeable gains? Intake piping stock is ok? (just have a cone filter attached to stock).

Also Brian Crower Cams, not nearly as good as Cosworth 272 MIVEC Cams? Thanks!

A recirculating BOV really doesn't help you any considering IXs came with that nice metal DV. Unless you're running more boost for something like meth, no need to upgrade. They won't make much if any more noise than the stock ones, but an open element air filter will help make it audible.

The stock intake piping (black plastic hose) is fine really. The metal units are known to cause some drivibility issues such as idle due to the fragile MAF sensor. With a tune it should run fine with metal intake pipe and filter, but sometimes they don't. One plus side to a metal pipe would be a louder DV sound though.

I like the Cosworth cams over the Brian Crower ones because of dyno proven gains. I'll be ordering a set of Cosworths in a few months, but don't let my opinion stop you from looking and doing some deeper research into the two brands. Cams are just great on Evos, but some have a few more gains than others.

A recirculated blow off valve won't get you any gains. You shouldn't consider a BOV as a performance mod. If anything, you could say that a recirculated BOV will recover lost horsepower that a plastic OEM Evo 8 diverter valve leaks out, but since you have an Evo 9, you don't have that leaky plastic valve problem.
