WGA Stock location

I just received a used FPGreen with a stock actuator on it. When I pulled it out of the box the pin for the flapper fell off and I am now not sure of the correct settings for preload and flapper position.

should the flapper door be closed?

where is stock preload on the threaded arm?

Thanks, but isn't that for the FP HP WGA?

Yes ... they should be the same. The actuator arm should be about 1/4" too short to easily slide on the flapper arm. You'll need to pull it and pre load the spring to get it to slide on to the flapper arm. It should hold the flapper closed fairly tightly.

so, I'm assuming it is the wrong actuator, probably an VIII, if I can't get the actuator anywhere near being able to hold the door closed. the rod is too long and I cannot screw the end any further down the rod.

Yeah, probably. Take a pic of what you are talking about. FP has done it a few times already, you might have to send it in for an exchange.

Damn, Sorry to hear about your situation.
I would double check the turbo just to make sure it is a green.
Hope you get everything worked out.

everything else looks correct. even has the FP tag on with serial number. I wonder if the hotside rotated enough to make the wga misalligned.

ok, I've confirmed this is the correct WGA, so I'm assuming that the hotside assembly is not in the correct location. can someone tell me how I can line up the hotside assembly to the correct position in relation to the compressor housing. This turbo is currently not mounted on the car and I would like to resolve this alignment prior to putting it on the car. thanks for any and all help!

Mitsu turbos used to have a locating pin that would prevent improper instalation. Remove the band clamp that holds the two sides together and carefully seperate them with a flatblade screwdriver. Don't twist them. As soon as they start to seperate, pull it straight off. You don't want it to hit the turbine blades.

If they still have this locating pin, it should look like this (small circle):

ok, so I took the hotside off and as I was taking it off found that the bolt on the vband clamp was not too tight at all. once I removed the hotside I found that the pin was sheared as seen in the crappy pictures. I mark both sides where the pin is and should be on the side so I could keep the hotside alligned and clamped it down with the v-band. my next question is, can the turbo stay like this or does the pin need to be replaced? if it can stay like this how hard to I clamp the vband down?
