IX mod sequence

I know it varies, but im curious on what your sequence was ... or better yet, the overall best mods to purchase for a stock ix if you plan to keep the motor and tranny stock.

I basically want to buy
-3" downpipe
-3" res cat delete
-3" catback (tanabe touring)
-hallman pro RX mbc
-drop in filter
-Walbro pump kit (if needed)
-flash tune / dyno tune

I'm pretty set on these mods, and I can afford a few of them now... so im debating on which ones to pick up first.

The catback is the most expensive, so I was going to leave that out until i have enough money for a tune. I was going also leave the walbro out until I got the car tuned also. I just bought a 3" downpipe, and im going to buy a $25 resonated test pipe from ebay (heard the fitment is fine) and bolt it up to my stock catback for now. I dont have enough money to buy the drop in filter and the hallman so which one should i get for now? and so on so forth...

am i leaving anything out

none of those other mods are going to do much good with the stock catback

you could improve on the stock tune I suppose but then when you added the other stuff you would need to get a retune

A full turbo-back exhaust is the most important part of a stage 1 car. I'd do that before I install an MBC and stuff. You can install a TBE without a tune right away. Still, get it tuned.

Gotcha. The downpipe probably has a decent gain (10 WHP) by itself.

Consider an O2 housing on your mod list?

From what I've been told on here you don't need the Walbro until you hit 400+WHP so unless you are aiming for higher than that, you shouldn't worry about the pump right now. I would get the MBC over the drop in since the drop in won't make too much of a difference. Down pipe should definetely help you out, although best thing to do is to get all the parts you want and then put them all on and do the tune then, but its up to you.

do the whole turbo back at the same time. and get it tuned. some of the e-tuners have subscription services, so you could look into getting one of those so you can keep updating your flash everytime you get new parts for the next couple months.

honestly, a tbe and a good tune make a IX into a whole different car. i couldn't believe how much of a difference it made for mine.

my next round of upgrades is a 3" ceraminc coated o2 housing. ported stock exhaust manifold, and mbc. they're waiting on the dining room table to go on now. i have heard the o2 housing and the ported stock manifold make a large difference as well.

+1 on not needing the walbro unless you start adding cams and go on to a new turbo....so far mod list is fine though.
