Evo withdrawl...

Some lady smashed into the back of my Evo. Luckily everyone was okay, but its been out of commission for 10 days already.

I miss it....

Especially since the rental car I have is a base model Ford Focus.

The sad part is that my Evo won't be done until late next week because she caused over six grand of damage. (Paid for by her insurance)

It doesn't look that bad, but when she hit the back the bumper mounts were pushed up into the trunk. The bumper then popped back out. Once they body shop took off the bumper you could see the damage. Luckily the frame was okay.

It sucks to go without my car because some idiot doesn't know what the brake pedal is for.

Thanks. My body shop is really good. They are a MB-USA certified collision center and they guarantee their work for life. They did a great job fixing my wife's car when she was sideswiped.

Man some people just should not be given driving licenses. At least your car wasn't totaled so just count down the days until you get your Evo back. Hope it turns out well for you.

Back in May when I bought my car, before I signed anything I noticed that the trunk had a deep key mark about a foot long on the back of the trunk. Also when I came in the day to buy it, I told them they day before to take the dealer plastic stickers off the trunk; they obviously used a screwdriver to just pry them off.

The result of this was they made 3 deep chip marks down to the metal.

I told them that this was bs and I'm not even thinking about buying the car unless they fix those 2 things.

Later that day I bought the car and they gave me a fix it ticket.

I took it to their shop 2 weeks later and told them that I wouldn't except them to just use some touch up paint (I took it to a professional car painter and he said that when the chip/scratch is deep enough to get your finger nail stuck in, that whole panel needs to be painted or it won't look right.)

I told them that and they took the wing off and painted the whole trunk, car was there for a week and I had a Ford Focus as well and I was in hell.

Just imagine, having a brand new Evo for about 2 weeks, then jumping right back into a crappy car. I couldn't stand it and visited the shop almost everyday that week getting updates about when it would be done. lol

Sorry to hear that..it beats backing into a pole and causing over 2k in damage and your own insurance company calls you negligent..

I had to replace my bumper and the floor panel for the trunk. It was out for a few weeks as well..

Hang in there!

to bad about your ride. i almost got rearended a couple of days back. i was inching along in rushhour traffic and looked up to see a huge bobtail truck closing in on me and could clearly see the driver looking down at the radio or something. i started to brace for the impact, when i saw the passenger in the truck get the drivers attention just in time for him to skid to a stop inches from my rear bumper. i was crazy mad but equally relieved that fool did'nt kill my evo.

That does suck I haven't driven my car since Dec. 23, I did take it out of the garage to move stuff around and put it back in though, at least I have the option to drive it.
