smashed evo problems! door skins anyone?

hahahahah okay maybe its not funny but yesterday i went and got my bby evo that i won on ebay. the car was sick as hell!! ran awesome, sounded good, the works, well last night i stopped in the twin cities on my way home to party with some buddies from MCAD. after a bit my good friend steve wanted to drive it. he wasnt drinking & hes a better driver than me, so i figured why not? might as well cant be hoarding the evo all the time. well im sure you all know whats about to happen. he was doin fine. whipped a couple corners a little harder than i would have liked him to (this is all on snow BTW) but i told him to back off a little and he did. but on the last corner he left her get away from him and slid sideways into a curb/packed snow bank. right now looks like he owes me 1 whole front passenger door & a rear door skin. new rim & tire and new trim on the bottom. so right now im stuck in the cities because until i can come up with something. if anyone has an idea so this poor kid doesnt have to come up with 5000 bucks to fix my car we'd both appreciate it very much!!

That really sucks... I have no leads on any parts, just wanted to say I feel bad for you. I read your other post about you getting the car.

Maybe your friend isn't as good as a driver as you thought. Better off hoarding the car to yourself, thats what I do

As far as the doors there are some on ebay right now. They are white but hey what more do you want? As far as wheels im sure you can find something somewhere on here but the side skirts might be a problem. Good Luck!

Friends Dont Let Friends Drive Thier Evos!! kind of. you see i myself do not yet have insurance on the car. (was plannin on doing that today) and he only has liabilty on his ****ty little mazda truck. so unless state farm liability insurance covers you when your driving someone elses car, im pretty much ****ed. lord knows his broke college *** doesnt have and extra 3-5 gs sittin around. the thing that REALLY pissed me off about this whole thing is that damn thing isnt even driveable with the rim & tire the way they are.

but the only good news is i have still have cash from my house deal to fix it. its just a matter of trying to do it cheaply.

does liability cover you when your driving someone elses car?

If it happened in a parking lot claim it on your insurance and make him pay you the deductable and maybe then some. check with your insurance and see if your rates will go up.

i lucked out and picked up 2 red doors of a member here for like $300 a peice. I would just get 2 doors. Replacing a door skin is a lot of work and the labor alone will be more than just replacing the entire door. thats what i did. good luck bro and hope you get her fixed up soon

It would be covered by your insurance not their's. It's always the owner of the vehicles responsiblilty when it comes to insurance claims.
If I wreck your car my insurance isn't going to pay, yours is. Thats why I don't let others drive my $hit.
