Any issue's with extending Front O2 sensor?

I just finished putting my car back together and the front o2 sensor is about 3" to short from reaching the o2 bung on the downpipe. Id normally just drive down the road with it unplugged and get the new bung welded higher but since i just put the new turbokit on the car I cant really do that lol and i cant get it tuned if its going to run rich from it being disconnected from the exhaust readouts. What im wondering is if i should try to re route the o2 sensor wires or extend them? the exhaust wouldnt be hard to remove but it just put gasket sealer on it and it was kind of anoying to remove put it on with such little room i had.

So ? extend wires, reroute, or quit being lazy and drop the downpipe?

Well, obviously you don't want to splice those wires. I'd try a reroute and see if you can get it to reach in 1 piece.

I'm surprised you had to splice. I was able to pull about 12" of slack wire from inside the car when I swapped my exhaust.

Just pull it back as far as you can, take the cover off of the valve cover to get at the wires. Cut the sheeting, follow the wire literally far far back. Remove that sheath completely. Get a new one from DEI or wherever, be sure it is heat resistant. Splice it far back and be sure to use solder, and get a good bond, no bubbly cold joints! It will work just fine. Re-shield it and call it a day Properly soldered, it will be just as/if not stronger than just the wire.
