EVO IX HID adjustment!!

Ok so here we go ive been looking to raise the HIDS in my IX. After looking at all the threads it just got confusing because there are so many different ideas and ways. nOOdle thanks alot you helped me out alot tho and all you other guys. But the only way to really see for yourself if try doing it.

My IX has the automatic adjustment that everyone is posting about with the little 6 inch cable coming for the the HID module well i dont really like the idea about using a screw driver and trying to get the low beam halos to move. Dont get me wrong the way frogstaple states is the best way and thats the way i did it on the drivers side worked awesome took the two screws out holding the little black gear onto the to bigger gears which has the 10 mm on them. It was like butter i twisted it with my finger and watched it go up.

Would you think i would get that lucky on the passenger side HAHA. I tryed doing that on the passenger side and the cable was seized up and could not turn like frogstaple has stated in his post. I didnt want to try stripping it with the screw driver or pliers. so i noticed that the end of that cable where the gear is comes off and you could see the inside of the cable so i wigged the cable out of the HID automatic adjusting box with the yellow sticker on like in the pics there is some weather glue on it but i just put a dab on it when i replaced it back in. but i used a 1/4 inch ratchet 3 inch extension with a 6.5 mm socket with a S3 square head bit and it worked like a charm measured the lights on the wall and did what i had to do but its clockwise to raise as like frogstaple said and i did this with the adjusters inside the car on 0 so i adjusted them pretty high so then i would have room to go down if i was blinding grammy. but i put the gears back on and the adjusters worked great. Its not the hard to get to the drivers side with the right size drivers.

I did this with the lights on but make sure the little black gear is back on and screwed down with you mess with the button inside the car to rise and lower the lights. I know this is kinda confussing and might not be the best way to do it but it worked for me and i dont have anything broken or stripped. If you want me to post or send you pictures let me know i will do my best to help you. I just want to help out everyone thats confused. There are lots of ways to do this but if you cable is seized and wont turn this is a good method!!

Where is frogstaple's tutorial? I search his name and only get two for sale threads. After putting on coilovers on the car, my lowbeam is unsafely low.

I did this about 6-7 months ago. The tutorials on here are a bit confusing w/ some conflicting info here and there, so I just had to play around and figure it out for myself like you said. I unscrewed the cable from the back of the headlight and used a pair of pliers to turn it. I could almost use my lowbeams set on 0 as highbeams now. I usually ride around on 2 though.

^ I guess the OP just wants to blind everyone on the road, the stock height is fine why are you messing with it? Unless your lowered, is my only guess still that shouldnt make a difference.
