Read through my original post as many had a CEL after this happens. Go figure

That is wierd since it is stock. Mine did that a few times, but had mods. So I started carrying extra clamps and tools in the car. It is very important to line up just right and tighten real tight otherwise it will keep happenin. First time it happened to me I was like
. Anytime since then I was like "Damn that hose popped AGain!" and pulled over to fix.
Never had any cels cuz of this. Vacuum hose pop as well? My car came with a turbo timer which had a boost guage built in and the dealer decided they would disconnect the boost gauge so they plugged the hose going to the boost gauge and left the vacuum hose to the intake open, go figure. This caused a cel to be thrown randomly till i figured it out. If they want to replace your cat then why not.

I just bought a 3" T-bolt clamp, but they only had one. I was installing it in my driveway, but it was too cold to finish.
I really don't feel like making room in the garage right now to work on it, but I know it'll fix my little problem of "POP! there goes the boost..."
How common is a LICP blowing off? I'm going to replace all the clamps with T-bolts eventually, but now that I will fix my weakness at the TB, I'd be scared a IC pipe would come off somewhere where I couldn't reach easily on the side of the road. eg. I'd have to take the bumper off for the LICP, yes?

Just because it supplied that code doesn't neccessarily mean thats the exact problem.
That code could have been pulled up due to the UICP blowing off and causing certain sensors to think your catalytic converter is clogged/defective.
I'd just tighten the clamp, purchase a t-bolt clamp to replace it or upgrade your UICP and have the code cleared.

This could be related. As a P0420 code is Cat efficiency below threshold meaning that the exhaust gasses after the cat are still to dirty (to put it simply). So since your IC pipe popped of causing the car to dump major fuel. This could very well result in crapy O2 readings post cat thus said CEL. Once you fix your crappy Clamp you should be fine.
Does anyone think that when this happens under cirtain conditions (throttle position/boost/load/how long the car'runs' without hose on) the massive amount of now unburned fuel (ecu is calculating much fuel under boost and without a maf reading, even at idle uses a 'rich' formula) makes it's way to the O2 sensor and or cat and kills one of the two?
I remember when it first happened I actually recall trying to get the car to keep going for abit. Not like a mile, maybe 100 yards
Then on the side I let it run thinking it would fix its self untill I realized it was time to shut her down and pop the hood. Yea, not the brightest thing to do, but it was my first Evo and only had it a month. Never figured it would happen, much less fubar the O2 and or Cat
Someone do a search on how many IX cats were replaced under waranty since they came out, lol.
