I just had this exact same issue about a month ago. The dealership thought it was the injector, so they ordered one and installed it the next day. When I called to see if my car was ready, they said it was the resistor pack not the injector and that they would have to order it. They said it would take a four days. I told them this is my daily driver an I could not go without a car for that long. So they were able to overnight it and they also gave me a loaner car. The Evo tech who usually always works on my car said this was the first time he had seen this part go bad. So they only charged me for the injector including labor. Sorry to hear that they are giving such a long timeframe. I'm sure if my dealership can get it within the same week, it can be done nationwide. Biggers Mitsubishi in Illinois

Ok. I jumped the resistor and everythings ok now. I put the order in at Mitsu and they said they were on a 6 month back order. But the last one they ordered came in 3 weeks. My car drives fine now with it jumped.

This must be a common issue lately cause I am the third one locally that has had the resistor good bad. Even one of the salesman said his went bad recently. But damn, 6 month backorder. BTW this is Anderson Mitsu in Rockford.

Basically what happened is one of the black wires that goes into the white ceramic piece rusted and broke off. Then while I was messing with it, I broke another one off. I was able to solder that one back on. But the original one I couldn't get the solder to take. So I spliced it into one of the good ones.

When I do get the new part, I'm going to fill both ends of the resistor with some silicone so it won't rust out the connections. And hopefully it never happens again.

I didn't have to pay for the resistor until it gets in, but I'm gonna call around to some other dealers in the Chicagoland area and see if I can get one sooner.

6 months???!?!! HOLY COW.

no man it takes about a month to get in not even.. prolly close to 3 weeks.... and the part was around $90.

yea that resistor looks bad in the pic... it cost me $100 to get my resistor jumped. I had mitsu did all my stuff.. didnt bother doing it since its too f-in cold out. LOL

but good luck y0... sorry for not getting back to you... i been busy lately. ;D

No that's cool man. When I brought the resistor in to them, they said I spiced it just like they did on your car.

I owe it all to this forum. There is so much information on here. If you just SEARCH. And chances are there is someone else on the forum that can help you. Thanks EvoM.

I hate mitsubishi sooooooooooooooo much. They just called me and said the pack was a month out after telling me for the last 3 days that it was "On the way, any day now". After you posted that it was a month out I knew something was up. So I asked them to just jump it out and I'll wait for the part to come in. This car is also my DD and I've been totally screwed the past week and a half without it. So they are jumping it out for me and I'll pick it up later

It'll work. My stealership told me 6 months. Did you have to get a new ECU?

Ya i did from Toplevel so it's back. I also got a resistor pack coming from them too. If you really want one they are worth a try, or another shop for that matter.

I am having a Cylinder 4 misfire, same type of issue. Mine weirds out when I get on the gas hard, making me think it is running lean (2002 Lancer OZ). If I let off it will be okay. Basically I have to rev it slow for it to drive normally. I have also checked everything, even hooked up a fuel pressure gauge, swapping plugs, coils, did coil resistance check, new wires... sigh. Good thing I typed in this search! I will check the resistor pack tomorrow.

It has been a while, is cylinder 1 on the left by the oil fill cap (2.0 engine)?

Anyone know what the resistance value of these resistors in the resistor pack is?

Can anyone show a picture of the jumper location?

Hey guys... Just realized this thread was posted in the EVO forum. I have an OZ. I couldn't find the resistor pack in the engine bay, does it or something like it exist on the 2.0 Liter engine?
