Just watched an episode of Pass Time on Speed Channel. Maybe it was old, if so, sorry for the old post.

There was an EVO on there with an "ETS 3.5 IC, 30R turbo running 25psi". It only ran mid 12's. If I were on the show and lost because it should have been about a second faster - I would have kicked that guy's a$$!!! One of the only import cars on the show and he is SLOW!

Trust me, I've run slow times before with a fast EVO, but DANG IT! if you're going to be on national TV you better represent the cause!!

Its sad that so many people spend a ton of money on go-fast mods but never spend any money on themselves to become better drivers.

 

cant you run mid 12's on a stock turbo with basic mods? i laugh at all the big turbo cars running slower than stock turbo cars, for me, i would never upgrade turbo before fully building my motor to deal with that turbo

 

I used to own a couple LS1 Camaros. They had a FULLY built, insane head/cam SS that ran a 12.6 on one of those "Speed" network shows.

idiots. I've owned an 11 second LS1 with half those mods, and stock, I ran a 13.1 @108. Their times are retardedly slow to the point of it being upsetting.

 

I seen that episode today too. It was good advertisement for ETS though as far as the Intercooler. The guy bogged on the starting line really really bad in his defense.

Its good to have though. I know its bad but i know for a fact that my local dealership monitors this thread. Back in 04 i went in for a tranny replacement under warranty. They said okay no problem. They call me and tell me its ready but it will not be covered under warranty and i need to come down to talk about it. I get there and they have printed off posts that i wrote about racing the car on this thread. Of course they didnt have a leg to stand on since they did everything and then came to this conclusion. So after some yelling and screaming i got my way and walked out with a new tranny under warranty. But i guess they got the last laugh when they told me not to come back since i have been flagged. Oh well after that i figured might as well go all out now and been having the most fun ever since!

You might have ran a 13.1 in your "stock SS" but alot of SS don't come as stock as other ls1 camaros

 

yeah i know this guy on another evo fourm... hes a nice guy.. to give it to him that was his 3rd time at the track... sezy as$ car..... seeing those ppl guess 12.8's or w.e was funny..lolol deff shoulda been a mid-low 11 sec pass though

 

thats a shame.. that is one more opportunity for the v8 community to laugh about... i wish he would have driven that car better for the sake of the evolution name and the big turbo... :-(

i wish i could get up there and run, i wonder what they would think our cars do.

soon as i said that to myself, i see an evo on the screen.....soon as the guy red off his mod list, i said 11.7...and ken said 11.8

low and behold that start was horrific, he did say he only been racin a few months, but thats plenty of time to learn the launch ....but wow, a 12.8...sad day for america

 

i'll have to check the dvr later... even with the spoiled outcome I guess i could've stopped reading.

 

It was a bit of a boggy launch but I'd be pretty nervous getting on TV just like most of us Pretty cool to get your EVO on Speed any way you slice it!

The car looked good. I thought it would have been a lot faster than it was. They did say it had a little trouble of the line though. It was still very cool to see an Evo drag racing on national television.
