Hood Dampers

will hood dampers help a carbon fiber hood stay shut during high speeds? i know that's what hood pins are for, but i'd rather not drill holes in my hood if the hood dampers will help.

yeah i saw those, but they look like a PITA to install because you have to cut your hood in a unique shape.

Hood pins are a must if you install a CF hood. I have a Seibon CF hood, and around 140 or so it wants to lift. I also have the Rexpeed CF look hood damper, and remember the damper doesn't make the hood close, but it try's to open it. I wouldn't feel safe in having only the dampers in!!!! Get hood pins and worry about it less. I've gone 175 with the damper AND pins, and the hood no longer wants to lift like it did before when all I had was just the hood. The pins are a MUST!

That's correct!! It is PITA to install and if you can't cut your hood and install them yourself, you're going to have to pay a nice premium for someone else to install them for you.
