Locking will stop a smash-n-grab from getting in the glove box. Most of the time thiefs will only hit a vehicle with items visible.

I've never seen a glovebox a screwdriver could not pry open.

Cruise control

Well, the reason why the Evo offers so much performance for so little is because Mitsubishi leverages some bits from the stock Lancer which would otherwise be very expensive to produce for such a low-volume car. Aston Martins have miata door handles and rx-7 ashtrays because those things are so expensive to tool and manufacture in small numbers that making a custom door handle or ashtray would add thousands to the price of each car.

With the Evo, the cost of developing interior trim pieces, switchgear, etc, are all amortized by the vast in comparison production numbers of the regular lancer. The trade off is that we have lots of lancer parts in our Evos, but for every dollar we save on a non-locking glovebox, we get a buck to spend on a forged rear suspension, and Brembo brakes, which virtually no car under 30K has as standard equipment. It seems like a decent tradeoff to me.

I'm, okay with not having cruise control, but I'd wish they make the EvO 8 motor a little more powerful from the factory...

I'd like to see better quality interior materials and trim

I've never had cruise control before, so I'm used to driving like that. I do a lot of roadtripping too. Cruise control makes you too lazy and will make you more prone to sleeping.
