Few ??s Is something wrong
So im just starting to get used to my evo. ive been having fun with it, driving and stuff but now im gonna post up some stuff that i want to get straightened out. okay first off its tuned for 21 psi but my guage only says that its going to about 17psi. now i have an autometer boost guage and before i go turning up the boost to 21 i want to make sure its not just the face of the guage or w/e is in the wrong position. when the cars off the guage doesnt sit at zero, its a little bit in the vaccume, is this normal or should it sit at zero. thats the reason i think it might actually be at 21 but the guage is showing 17.
That is my major question but the other i can think of now is my IC water sprayer... it doesnt work. i checked the fuse and its okay. at first i thought the water was frozen and so it wasnt working but now weve had a few days of warm weather and it still doesnt work. idk wats up any other ideas, maybe somethings disconnected??

wait im dumb disregard my last post cuz there really is no way your car could get 5psi when you turn the key off that just would be impossible unless the bounces of the revlimiter a few times first. but when there is no key in the ignition does the guage stay sitting at 5psi

The gauge should read 0 or very close to zero when the car is off, if it dosant then the gauge is out of wack. I don't know if you can adjust the autometer gauges. Do not turn up your boost, you need to find a way to verify what you are actually boosting too...ie another boost gauge tapped into the BOV line or fuel pressure regulator line. Or if you have buddys that work at a dealer, you can have them hook up a scan tool(that would be the best if your that lucky) or you could take it to a tuner, but they might charge you something.
FYI..the gauge should read about 20 inHg (inches of mercury(the measurment of vaccum) at idle. If you have cams it may be a little less.
And for the water sprayer, i like them, don't listen to the haters. Do you here the pump running when you hit the button??? its kind of hard to push the button and listen at the same time, so have a buddy hit it for you while you listen.
If it is running, then fallow the washer hoses to the sprayers, you would know if there is a leak, the fluid would be running all over the place.
If it is not running then remove the connector from the motor, and check if its getting voltage. If it is, then the motor is toast. If its not, then consault a buddy with a electrical back ground.
Good Luck!

pretty funny about not to long ago I noticed my Aem electronic boost gauge was staying at aroun 2 vacuum when it was off. bTW I agree, got rid of my spraying tank I always thought it was useless, unless is going to drop 20 degrees of the temp I'm not interested, I'd rather loose ten pounds.

okay thank ricahrd, it is reading 20 Hg at idle. i made a video if you want me to host it i will just let me know. and yeah i had my brother check, it doesnt spray and i dont hear it making any noise at all but i will check again. i think the motor is not connected at all cuz no water comes out and the light in the dash doesnt turn on either

i think its cool to have a button that sprays water on it but, i do agree what is a spray of water really gonna do especially depending on the weather
