Yes and no. I bought mine for 28,991 with 16k and bone stock from a mitsu dealer 'Certified' allowing it to qualify for the 10yr-100k powertrain for 1,300 bucks.

If you want an Evo as a DD get a MR for sure. Besides the extra gear (under 3k@70mph in 6th) for highway cruising the MR suspension makes for a better ride and far more controlled over ripple bumps and all types of road conditions. The reg suspention and 5 speed can make for a annoying ride at times IMO. Many complain of the 6-speed being weak but as long as you change the tranny oil (Mitsubishi Diaqueen 75W85 GL-4 Transmission Oil) every 10k and do not road race at a track you will be fine. I find the 6-speed to be a gem for daily driving as the shifter it's self has a better feel (seems higher and more direct) and shifts from gear to gear much better.

Keep in mind a few important things related to the warranty. Not having a stock exhaust could void the powertrain, make sure you get the stock one incase you need it. Run the Vin through Mitsu and make sure the car has never been reported as being on a track. I looked at 2 other Evo's and the Dealer had no warranty on them even though they had only 30k. When I asked why, they said the cars Vin had been reported for being at a track and is sold as is.

i have a mint 06 GG MR/SE with 13k miles 100% stock i was thinking about selling cause i'm looking at something else but i am not taking anything below 30K but i dont want to go though the trouble of selling it and the dealer would only give me 27,500 at most then they would not budge on the new car!! ill sell you mine for 30,500 with blizzak's snow tires ill even drive the car to you for $100 more well let me? i'm not knocking that car at all but i can tell you that my car is in much better shape and i take very good care of my cars i do all my own oil changes and this car has never been to any type of track so i still have a lot of tread left on my stock tires

It's a good deal, esp if he is willing to deliver the car. If he would do 30,500 delivered I would prob jump on it my self if I hadn't bought the one I have. It's a rare model, infact i would say the best IX Mitsu ever made for the states as it has it all. Since he would deliver tells me he stands behind the car and is telling you it is what it is. Plus it gives you time to sell your other car/register/inspect ect at your own pace, esp if you need to wait for the title.

And no I do not know the seller in any way

Yep, see the MRs going from 29k all the way to 36k around here, it's crazy. The crazy'er part...People are paying those prices The STI's are no better and often even more. Fact is if you want an Evo your going to pay some bucks and to make matters worse you really have no idea how the car was treated by the prev owner. For me the price was worth it since there really is no substitute for a car such as the Evo.

Mmm, not sure what you are asking. If the clutch is depressed it will limit the RPMs much like the 'TMO' studder box mod. I find it usefull as you can just floor it on the line and not worry about where the rpms are at and focus on a smooth launch and the road ahead. If you bypass the feature your asking for trouble
