I would ASSUME an extra gear would be a benefit, but hey, thats just me.

If you are going to track/drag your car heavily get the 5 speed. For more all around daily driving get the 6 speed, as the MR is more comfortable.

Personally, I track/drag my car and haven't had any problems on my 6 speed yet.

Seeing how your member name is 06MRSE.....it wouldn't make sense to get the 5spd

my 2 $

if you plan on more than 400 awhp the 6 spd won't last. Mine had issues after a year but held out till I broke 5 th sencro pin. Then spent 3700. For new Shep trans and install kit with redline oil. I did labor myself and save slot of $$$$. Just giving my two $. The 5 spd is all better than the 6 for racing trust me, had the 6 for 28 months and wish iwould have did 5 sooner.

Despite the extra gear, the gearing actually decreased the gas mileage on the MR. I'd have to dig up my source though.

I speak as a 5 speed owner and have had zero problems. Very solid feeling. I've daily driven my car for 1.5 years btw.

It could be due to the extra weight (~80lbs. off the regular ix) but common sense would lead me to believe that a 6speed gets better gas mileage than a 5speed.
