yeah I think he used a dremel to take off the remains of the old head gasket off of the block too...that could've created dips and uneven places in the block too...So he'd have to pull the motor and get the block resurfaced??? there prolly arent machine shops that can do this with it still in the car is there???

Next time use a razor knife or get the block decked

Or use a "straight edge" to check the deck surface. Getting your head decked actually interferes with your mechanical timing. For example, if .002" were removed to ensure flatness, youd need a headgasket .002" thicker to make up for what has been shaved to keep the timing marks accurate. If you dont use a thicker headgasket, get yourself adjustable cam gears and a cam degree wheel and install the correctly. Sounds like he bent valves to me if he had 90 psi then 0.

this would be A LOT of work. especially if we would have to pull the motor to get the block decket also

Depending on how carefull he was in using his dremel he may actually need a whole new motor, block and head. It only takes a little material to ruin a perfectly good block or head if the proper machining isn't done. The only way to know that the motor is going to be ok is to pull the engine and send it to a machine shop to have the block and head decked. If they don't have to take off too much to get them flat then he might be ok. If he dosn't then this will all be guess work as to whether it will ever seal properly, especially under boost. Good luck !!
