Improperly installed car seat. My Evo almost always has 1 car seat in the back. Sure newer cars are safer but it's a safe car and it's accident avoidance abilities are amazing. The Evo has hooks under the seat and the seat should not move at all when it's installed properly.

As far as the naysayers go, I bet you'd be suprised when you see the list of most unsafe vehicles. Most of the the soccer mom SUV's that people buy because they think they are "BIG" and "SAFE" are actually the most dangerous vehicles on the road. The Evo didnt make the list... sorry.

Here's the 20 most dangerous vehicles (FORBES)

1. Buick Rendezvous
Four-Door SUV

2. Ford Ranger/
Mazda B-Series

3. Nissan Frontier

4. Ford Escape/
Mercury Mariner

5. Toyota Yaris

6. Hyundai Accent

7. Toyota Matrix/
Pontiac Vibe

8. Kia Rio

9. Chevrolet Aveo

10. Suzuki Reno/Forenza

11. Ford Focus

12. Jeep Liberty

13. Dodge Dakota

14. Chevrolet Cobalt/
Pontiac G5

15. Nissan Xterra

16. Saturn ION

17. Chrysler PT Cruiser

18. Honda S2000

19. Toyota Scion tC

20. Mazda3

You must not have the seat installed properly.

My 9mo. old daughter goes everywhere with me in the evo w/o any issues.

You are a freaking retard. Please do not procreate. You are a prime candidate for a future Darwin Award! I really wish I was a policeman and saw that happen...It wouldn't have been pretty. Negligence like that is the cause of so many infant deaths, it's unreal. Please go to your local DMV and turn your license in. Pathetic. I'm surprised you even had the educational comprehension to even make a post on "teh inter-web". I really hope this post is just you being an *** and not real.

i agree completely, and the worst part is you could have killed someone else's kid, and then had the audacity to come on here and make a joke about it

Doing something that stupid is one thing, but then admitting it online to 50,000+ people is quite another. That is amazingly scary...

For the guy who said he wouldn't put a baby in an Evo, there are many of us who have Evos specifically because of our kids. I personally would have a Vette, Cobra, or some other hot coupe probably if not for the need to have 4 doors. My son had his infant seat in the rear and now has his black Recaro race seat that he loves...it works perfectly.

I say give the guy a break on his mistake, he really didnt know any better and alot of seats just look like you should run the safety belt through them (in fact alot of people do that), instead of using the proper belt and the special vehicle hooks to secure the seat. My wife still has me install / uninstall car seats in both of our cars because she can't get them tight enough so they don't move.

The OP is not a retard, he just didnt have necessary instruction or experience in installing the car seat - Clearly the parents responsibility.

nothing wrong with putting a baby in an evo... i had to bring my dads girlfriends son(5 years old) to school one morning and he sat in the back in a booster seat or whatever the hell it is and didnt have a problem. I was doing 30 and he was saying how the car was "so fast" haha

I have 2 car seats in the back for my 1yr old and my other 3yr old and never had an issue. I am always afraid they may throw up though, lol. I never drive aggressive in any way when the kids are with me, I drive like a old lady. I would actually consider the Evo one of the safer cars out there due to the firm chassis, excellent brakes and tires and is reinforced from the ground up. Hell i bet almost all other cars or SUVs are no better if not worse for safty.

With that said, what is the Evo's crash test rating

To the original poster. Why would you take a HARD turn with an infant in the car (or any car for that matter) unless you were avoiding a possible road hazzard or oncoming car ect... Even when my 3yr old says "faster daddy, faster" I never bring the car even close to the limits.

Never had a problem with car seats in my evo. I have a 5 and 4 year old and they have been in my car for about 2 years now, no problems at all. If your car seat flipped over it's user error or the car seat sucks.

The retard comes in the guy who said that he would never put a baby in an EVO Dumbass

you must be smoking something....I have one kid and he seem to be fine in my Evo.

If you are driving like a jack as* with a kid in your car doing a fast as* turn...it really doesnt matter what car you have...

Anyways thank god you dont have any kids

Thank you for saying this to the OP, I hate these jack as* racing around with kids in the car....I've seen it all the time with SUVs and vans.

Fu*king soccer mom doing Fu*king rolling race from 3rd gear to 4gear, thats why I also think rolling race is for losers with slow as* cars

BTW, watch OP coming back with his "I wasnt going that FAST" reply.

Have the parents load the car seat before they leave, so you know it will be installed correctly. My kids love being in the evo, my son is almost 2 and he falls asleep so easy to the rumble of the exhaust...

Well it is good to know that there isn't a problem with properly installed car seats I have a daughter on the way, due date is july 29, and was a little worried about it seeing as what the car is and all but I figured that it obviously passed safety standards but you still can never be to safe especially with a new born. We also have a 07 Outlander GG to match my Evo and that will be great to tote around a kid. I guess I just have make sure it is installed right and there shouldn't be a problem.
