@#$%*&$@# !!!! Icp

Let me say first, yes I know there are plenty of threads on this but I have to vent.

For the third time in a week I have blown a F***ING ICP pipe off my car. I got it fixed once by 4WS who did it in record time and it blew again only because the coupling was too short. So I fixed it myself yesterday and made sure the coupling had a good inch on each side of the LICP and the IC and put 2 tbolt calmps on the LICP side and BOOM it goes again at 2am last night.

I had to drive 35mph for about 10-15 miles which sucked major @ss. I tried to do the hairspray thing yesterday but it didnt get all tacky so I dont think I had the right type of hair spray I think rubber cement would be better but then be a B!tch to take apart.

Has this happened to anyone repeatedly before? Was it the same pipe that kept blowing off or since you secured one solid did another on pop off? I will findout later today what happened when I rip my car apart again.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have the Fujita UICP and Injen LICP, it was popping off the LICP on the IC side before but since I cranked the tbolts on it yesterday I probably popped one off somewhere else.....

Beaded, what do you mean?

I have the PPI licp with T bolt clamps and have had no problems thus far. Here's knocking on wood.

Beaded meaning there is a raised lip around the circumference of the pipe. Also you might have tightened it TOO much and not the pipe is not completely round anymore thus causing an insufficient seal which in turn causes the pipe to pop off.

also take some alcohol / brake parts cleaner to the coupler and pipes and make sure there isn't any grease or oil on the surfaces

Mine popped off at least 5 times. I used hairspray and I bent two notches on the end of the licp to hold the coupler. This didn't affect the performance at all. After that it's been on for over 6 months now and still boosting 23 psi.

I strongly recommend stainless "liner" clamps with the stainless screw.

I use the Breeze brand clamps on a regular basis and have never had a clamp related issue.
