NY To Orlando
Drove about 800 miles this past weekend and had a sore lower back but no problems with knee/ankle. I'd put a couple shirts in the lower back area to prevent back pain. Driving out of Chicago and through Milwaukee wasn't fun because of all the crappy roads, which was a teeth-chattering. The open roads in rural areas made it all worth it though.

#3 Foot and ankle pain from no cruise control
#4 if u have an exhaust the droning is killer
#5 Lower back pain so yeah pillow or sumtin should help
#6 every damn kid wants to race you but i am sure we are all use to that one
#7 easy to get sleepy (i drove into the grass slightly 3 times last time.) So Get Sleep!!

My friends and I drive to the DSM shootout every year and its about a 8 hour 500 mile ride. For me its not bad at all the only part I didnt like there is a part of rt.80 that feels like ripples in the road and since the evo suspension comes a little hard stock it got kind of annoying. Long rides in the evo are not bad cruise control would come in handy though.
If you have exhaust, the drone will be killer. Drove the evo from central pa to orlando last summer, about 1000miles. The ride wasn't too bad for a lowered car but after driving for hours on end, we couldn't hear right when we got out of the car because of how loud the exhaust was.
I love driving in my evo but i think a long road trip, anything over 2 hours, would probably suck. No cruise control would be killer, my exhaust would be annoying and the road noise would also suck. Blast some music and swap drivers if you have company every so often.

I actually wanna take that drive myself... but straight down to Miami from NYC.
I drive every year to Charlotte, NC from Queens, NY. The ride is okay.. I still have my stock recaros so comfort isn't an issue. I just put in my silencer or put up my music loud to block out the exhaust annoyance.
I recommend, to stay out of boost and keep your windows up at all time to avoid drag. Also, leave the A/C at like 1 for nice low flow...
Needless to say, our cars do kiiiiiiillll alot of gas, but this technique should help you conserve some.
enjoy
