Why do you think its cracked? Are you having shifting problems? This is a very uncommon part to be broken. If you are having shifting issues it is more likely to be a cracked or broken shift fork, synchro, etc. Sorry to sound like I doubt you, I just don't want you to waste time and $$. The parts you are trying to remove are definitely meant to removed with the trans out but you may be able to do it in the car. Good luck.
