I guarantee there will be dealers that will charge MSRP here in Cali. I just got an email from Pomona stating that they will give me MSRP on the EVO. If you do call them , do not give them my name. I had a lock on another dealer and for some reason when Hooby called to verify they told him no! Oh well, just start sending out the emauil requests to dealers in your area, let them know that you KNOW that dealers are already taking pre orders (albeit against Mitsu standards) and that you KNOW you can get it elsewhere at MSRP. They will most likely be willing to do what it takes to at least match another dealer.

I am on the waiting list at about 4 dealers. The dealer in Georgetown said they would sell at MSRP with a $2000 non refundable deposit!. I broke down and put a $500 deposit in at Round Tree
in Waco instead. That is guaranteed at $1000 over
I just said screw it! I want it! $1000 isn't that much for my peace of mind. I have already put off purchasing a car for the last year waiting to know if this thing is coming or not. Almost bought a WRX, but then
announced January 2003 the EVO would come.
I personally emailed every dealer in TX and called about half. The dealers in Georgetown and Waco was the best I could do. But if the other dealers come along later and take deposits at 0 over MSRP( which I doubt) I will go with them. I am the 1stinline at the Waco dealer and they have no clue what the EVO is about.
Gillman sucks! they said they would put me on the list but call me when they get specs and expect at least a few thousand over MSRP.
Maxwell sucks ***! They claim they will just call everyone on the list and have a bidding war when the cars show up.

BTW Dr. Evo....congratz on getting yer Evo from Troy. I dig him, he's a good guy. I should get Troy to cut some of my cost since I brought him customers

Check the Mitsu in Anaheim and Costa Mesa. The Anaheim one will be getting four (two silver, two yellow) and the Costa Mesa dealership will be getting one or two. The one in Naheim will be above the $29,999MSRP and they will be sold at 32/33K, so the guy told me. They are taking deposits at the beginning of August, but he told me to call back at the end of July to make sure

Do you live in Orange County?
Hooby, you should definately get a discount for helping Wayzata make sales. Troy is a really cool guy to deal with so I didn't hesitate to put the deposit down. I just cannot wait until December. I've been buying Japanese Evo magazines and videos. The E7 kicks *** on track and on dirt. The videos shows the evos dominating the circuits on Japan. So what color do you guys want? I just cannot make up my mind on the color yet. I like em all.
We have all seen the performance of the Evo VII, but realize that is the Japanese spec with some 15-25 more horses!!! We here in the US will have a heavier front 5mph bumper that precludes a smaller intercooler and unfortunately less performance! ...and perhaps more drag Coef!
...has anyone seen/heard estimates of US spec performance? , beyond whats in C/D March/April segment.
Anyone in the OHIO area? ...the Dealers here are clueless!
