Evo vs. BMW E39 M5

Which would dominate on a road course? Would it be a close race or what? M5 handles like a dream, but can the Evo still hold up to its own against the M5? Or will it be burned due to the insane amount of torque the M5 has?

do u even have an idea of how heavy the M5 is? 4400lbs. And the M5 doesnt handle like a dream after you have driven the evo. No car with that kind of weight will ever handle like a dream. It only seems to handle well becasue of the DSC which cuts your throttle during turns. Drive it hard, you get brake fading..drive it fast and your stopping distance is increased dramatically. Performance wise, M5 is no match for the evo, but if you want luxury, that's another story. But i always believed that a sports car should be a sports car, a luxo sedan should be a luxo sedan. If you mix the 2, you get a car that only mediocre in both categories.

It's 4000 pounds not 4400. And yes that makes a difference.

4000 lbs is the dry weight, 4400 lbs is the tested weight. I used to be a E39 M5 owner.
