Angled exhaust tip to straight exhaust tip

So i dont want to buy an exhaust cutout shield for my bumper. I dont think they look all that great. And im getting tired of washing and waxing a corner of my bumper every other day. So im thinking of straightening my exhaust tip so it doesnt angle out the back. For me, i think this will be easy. I have the Turbo XS and the ti tip is riveted onto what i think is a piece of stainless steel that protrudes from the canister. So im thining, if i take off the tip, take the rear section of the exhaust to a muffler shop or machine shop, they can cut offthe protruding stainless piece, weld and angle on there, weld the piece the tip gets riveted to back on, rivet the tip back on and viola! I just want to know if anyone has though of doing this, or has done it and get some input. Thanks.

If you are going to go through all that you might as well just have them add a small section to the piping to bring the tip out from the bumper a little. Would be cheaper and less trouble IMO.
