Oem X exhaust with different tips?

Wanted to know if anyone has done this...

I use my Evo X for daily driving so I don't want to spend money on expensive mods etc. (I have an custom Evo 8 I spend all my money on already

However, there are improvements I would like to make because simple was saving money.
So my question is has anyone changed the tips on the Evo X stock exhaust ? ( those "slip-in tips" from the factory are so ugly and cheap looking).

I was thinking about taking the chrome tips off, cutting the end off a little and have some nice tips welded on (magnaflow has some very nice looking tips)... anyone done this with happy results?

thx
Siyah

ExoticSpeed has some nice looking Ti tips for around $100 that would look really good.

About the same as stock, it's just a 10in piece of piping that got replaced so no reason for the sound to change!
