kid's 18.... just got the car 1st manual... and he bought it 3 months ago... his mom thinks the "z" is safer because the fact it doesn't have a turbo, i swear his rents are dumbass as well she thinks the z is safer then the evo because its not awd and not turbo'd...i was talking to them today and he saw my car and he's like i miss it(his)... i was like if you didn't act like a ****ing retard you would still have it... then he was like it wasn't the car's fault it was mine.... "i knew how to drive an evo tho" apparently not..i told him i didn't like the z so he's like how about a s2k.... i told him to get a bike and ride that around for a little while

Pft....... Oh come on that will buff right out, no problem.
No, but seriously what a jack***.
Did the cops take his license or anything? Cops arent dumb and I'm sure that they figured out that he was driving fast and caused it himself. Tickets? Anything?
His parents are complete idiots for wanting to run out and get him another sports car. If I did that when I was younger my parents would make me walk for months before even considering anything else. Actually when you buy the car with your own money you tend to have alot more respect for it and not do dumb things.
I have had plenty filthy rich friends whos parents buy them fast cars and they trash or wreck them. All my other friends myself included paid for our cars and keep them clean and dont crash them up. goes to show what spoiling your kids will do in some situations.
Glad he didnt hurt anyone and sad to see the Evo trashed, next thing we know the Evo will be a dying breed.

+1 on no car for Junior. He sure as hell shouldn't be behind the wheel of a 350Z.
I got a 4 door, 4 banger that might've been able to do 85mph if my fat @$$ wasn't in it. That was it. If I wanted anything else, I was responsible for buying it myself (no co-signing), paying for the insurance, etc.
I eventually got my first sports car when I was 18. Saved up and got myself a '95 Mustang GT (MTX). I did a burnout here and there and took it to the local track a few times, but for the most part I was very cautious about it. Mostly because it was MY hard earned money at stake, not a free ride.
Then again, common sense isn't something you can buy.... Or in some cases beat into someone with their own a-pillar.
Glad your friend is okay, I hope he has learned it's lesson. Though from the sound of it, doubtful.

He's lucky he didn't hit and a kill a mother walking down the street with a baby in a stroller.
If he can't handle an AWD car then he sure won't be able to handle a RWD. People get in an AWD Evo or other car and suddenly they are bad A race car driver and think they can out drive anyone. Then you put them in a RWD drive car and they crash it Stupid.
