Test Pipe Questions

Hey All!

I'm looking for some advice on test pipes...can't seem to find the help I'm lookin for through good 'ol google. Is there anything in particular I should be lookin for? I've got a high-flow cat on my VII now but I'll be replacing the clutch this week and figured I might as well get a test pipe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

Edit - Is there anything in particular I need to do to avoid throwing the CEL?

im pretty sure you will be fine just put the clutch and test pipe in theres nothing to a test pipe its just a tube the length of the cat so nothing "particular" is needed, im running a Exeddy stage2 clutch and test ive got no codes. just make sure that if it throw codes, FIXEM BEFOR you flash for new parts!!!!

Save the environment and less work from not installing the test pipe.

every test pipe will throw a cel unless you do a mechanical fix ie. anti fowler. i have a megan resonated pipe and love it. sounds good and has good power gains.

Thanks for the advice guys! Does brand matter so much? And sorry if this is a dumb question...but what is anti fowler? Is that like a dummy rear O2 sensor?

I got the BLOX testpipe from speedelement.com . It comes with the cel fix. Great product, cheap, fast shipping!!! Very simple install (less than an hour unless your bolts are all seized up lol!! Expect your exhaust to get louder and attract more attention though. The CEL fix actually tricks the O2 sensor by pulling it out of the direct exhaust stream. There is a great article in the How-to section where you can even make one from spark plug antifoulers.

Don't mean to steal your thread but i'm looking at getting either test pipe or high flow cat. Was going to go with the test pipe route but I was just warned by a friend that getting caught with no cat especially in Jersey is a major major fine i.e. they tow ur car, up to $1,000 per missing cat, and court fees. Is this how it is in jersey?
