donut?
donut?
just put in my megan tbe . i bought it used but when i bolted up the downpipe i got an exhaust leak . i reused the original donut gasket and spring bolts and it definitly leaked . then in desperation until i find a fix i used honda bond
to seal it temporarly and regular bolts and tightened the shhh out of them.
i gues my question is when u buy a tbe does it come with a specific donut gasket and spring bolts or do most people reuse the old ones?

I have a buschur tbe and the downpipe bonds directly to the o2 housing, as in no gasket. My gasket was pretty bonded on there originally and I tore it up pretty good on the removal... Oh and be careful with over tightening regular bolts on the housing, I have heard cracking is possible there.
for the megan downpipe, you re-use the stock donut gasket but dont use the stock spring bolts (bought new megan supplied 2 new regular bolts for the install). if the bolts you have installed now in place of the spring bolts thread correctly and are the right length you should be good, just make sure to torque them to the correct specs; downpipe to o2 housing should be torqued to 37 ft/lbs , and downpipe to cat should be torqued to 37 ft/lbs also.
