the lotus elise. i was thinking that purchasing this as my next car after i selling my viii. i always had a thing for small rwd two seaters but purchased the evo because i needed a daily driver. now that i have a daily driver, i was thinking about this purchase. i had a 93 rx7 and really enjoyed that but the reliability was an issue on that car. has anyone dealt with the elise and is it reliable. i heard it has the motor as the celica so it should be. also, does it handle better the evo?
Ive also been checking them out.. they look pretty reliable, and handle great. 2200lbs.. turbo kits are a lil pricey. The new ones come turboed, and u can get a slighty used 06-07 for under 40k
I just cannot give up the space- I am about 6'3" tall and the interior would just be too claustrophobic for me. besides..............

Not an Elise, but a guy in my car club [nokturnal] has the Exige S and man is it small..
Great track car, but anything other than that , not practical..
sweet little car, like a big go-cart though..

The Exige is about as pure as a driving experience gets, aside from a shifter kart.
I say, if you fit inside and don't need the practicality of an Evo (which it sounds like you don't) then do it! They're amazing!
Plus, I have yet to see another car with a better exotic-car appeal for so little money.... we had an 06 Exige S in silver at CBRD and it sat across the showroom from a 2007 997 GT3 (125,000) and 9 out of 10 people would walk over to the Lotus first...
oh, and be prepared to answer lots of stupid questions.... lol

Very fun car. When inside you feel as though you are sitting on the ground and it isn't exactly easy to pop yourself out. Lots of looks from people and the possibility of being run over by any large truck that may not see you
. The VVT engine kicks in well as the car is quite light. When I drove one around, I would have been happier with another 15-20hp. Handles like it is on rails, as far as driving...its a rough ride. I would buy one...
