First evo and some questions
yeah well turns out it is a burnt out clutch and they want 1800 to replace it. I dont want them to put a stock one back into it but cant decide on what after market clutch is the best to use. I want one that will hold up when driven rough every now and then but for a daily driven car.

Did you take it back to the dealer you bought it from and tell them they sold you a car with a bad clutch. Come on only 5 days old...

yeah i did, it is their now. i am waiting for a call from them with their decision if they want to cover it or not, because i spent all day on the phone arguing with them about it...
Ok well i guess the dealer made a deal with me that if they tear apart the car to look at the clutch and when they look at it they can tell if i did it or if it was something over time. if i did it they are makeing me pay for it and vise versa. I ordered the ACT MB7-XTG6 clutch kit for my replacement and was wondering if i should replace the flywheel now or just have the factory one re-finished?
I didnt notoice if your transmission has been replaced or rebuilt yet but if your car is under anysort of warranty then you might want to consider a stock clutch. I went ahead and put a aftermarket clutch in (i supplied to the dealer) and less than a half a year later when the tranny went so did my warranty. Had TRE rebuild it and put in a stock clutch (350$ from a dealer) and I am Happy. Sometimes that warranty is worth not voiding.
Careful with the dealers. Could be they are setting you up to force you to pay them do the clutch job, since the car will be all torn down in their garage.
When I bought mine it had 50 miles on it from a dealer trade, and they told me they checked the ECU to make sure it had never been revved over 4k. Of course it was a load of crap but I didn't know it. Point is a lot of dealers have no problem lying to your face.

If this is a
dealer make sure you have no aftermarket parts in your engine bay. The dealer voided my friend's warranty because he had K&N air filter! They will give you any BS possible to have you pay for everything.
ACT is a good clutch, so you made the right choice. Good luck

Yeah its not a
dealer, so i should be fine nothing is really changed in the engine bay just a broken fuel line being held together by another fule line with fuel line clamps. I will have to take a pic. and post it later on. i can not find what that specific line is called and where to find it...

You should be fine then, most other dealers don't know jack about Evos. Keep posted of how it goes. GL
