how about this:
get whatever you can find, afford, and like! as with any car, the guys with the older ones sometimes envy the guys with the newer ones for whatever reason, and at some point someone with a newer one sees some merit in the guys with older ones (having it paid off for lower insurance/more $ for mods, looks that grow on you, realizing that despite all the newer features on a newer one, at a certain level of modding it doesn't matter which one you have, etc.) so just get what works for you.
