Dude...I love my Megan TBE. Quiet around town, beast at WOT. Quality welds, fitment, competitive price, full 3". PM if you have any questions about it.

Just take the muffler off, its only three bolts (four including the hanger) and its really not that much louder but enough to make it sound better than stock. Theres already 2 inline resonators in the stock cat-back so IMO removing the muffler was just getting rid of a useless 25lbs from the car. I originally did this to gain a little extra power while autocrossing and decided to just leave it that way because I'm really happy with it. I've been driving around with it like that for about a month now with no extra attention from cops, like I said its really almost as quiet as stock especially outside the car. I have plans to make a muffler delete pipe using the flanged piece from an old stock muffler so that the exhaust exits out the back but thats it, I'm leaving it like that. I realize its no 3" TBE but this was by far the easiest and cheapest way to make my car sound better and probably gain a few hp too. I say save you're money for a good exhaust and do this in the mean time.

Actually you don't, and state and local authorities will make sure of that.

I can't beleive no one told you it's dangerous. The carbon monoxide fumes will enter the passanger compartment. i had a friend years ago that died because someone hit him in the rear and broke his exhaust pipe. He didn't know and waited outside to pick up another friend with the windows up and the air on. !/2 hour later he was dead.

i have a megan manifold, ebay 02, turbo xs downpipe, helix test pipe, and megan cat back. i know its a random combo but the megan cat back fits great and my car is LOUDDD at WOT. and just a slight rumble at part throttle. megan exhaust is a good cheap product. no need to pay twice as much for the same size exhaust made out of the same material.

actually i do.. inspections are easy to get around, and idk about the cops where you live.. but im an hour south of dallas, and the cops are dumber than a box of rocks. and unless they have a search warrent, they cannot/will not look under my hood. sooo i do have the right to do whatever i want.

damn i would give out my ebay tbe for free if i'm in state(texas dallas area) but im stuck in sandbox.
Ebay tbe is truely worth money. 3 inch is 3inch.
BUT if you want something quiet, you have to pay the price to get it done.
I'm planning to get something quiet when i get back. Also going to gut out my interior and spray some noise proof rubbery stuff. It will add about 100-200lbs but I'll make it up by getting 20g or gt30 =D
I have to crank up my radio up to hear my music and impossible to talk on the phone.

also paying for the brand name = better resell value.
i dont think i can even get half of $ i paid for my ebay tbe.

lol thanks

so i decided to take it off today, and the truth is, to everyone who said it wouldnt make the car any louder, etc. well you all where wrong. the car is a little louder, but muchhh deeper and throatier. it sounds good WOT too
but i am worried about 1 thing, when i go WOT it soulds like the turbo is blowing in my ear. like a huge gust of wind just nailed me...
i think its kinda tight tho

haha just read the whole thread umm wow ya.......So I'm gonna go outside and remove my rear windshield wiper until I get a new ralliart one that way it will look much more "tight" than it does now. JK I just think it's weird you would post this instead of asking one of your friends that knows just a little bit about cars..
