thought I fixed my cel....

I took my intake apart and cleaned the maf, and my cam position sensor with maf sensor cleaner. Car ran 130 miles without the engine light, then we had a huge rainstorm that I drove in. Engine light came back on. Might be because I don't have that rain guard thingy under the vent in my hood. Are they crucial, and if so where can I get a replacement.

it is common for the water to get onto the camshaft postion and crank shaft position sensors when the rain gaurd is removed. there are many threads on this and it happend to my friends car. we cleared it and it has still never come back on...

any point to removing that rain directer thing in the vent or is it just for the "look at my engine bay" factor?

I did not remove it, I bought the car with it already gone. I am currently looking to buy one to avoid this problem.

the engine rain shield weighs 500 lbs and this works out too 100 less horsepower, take it off and you can hit warp nine...what the hell kind of noob are you man? (wink, wink)
